Job description

The Vice President of Finance serves as the senior financial leader for a U.S. RENK subsidiary and acts as the primary financial interface with the German parent company. This role is responsible for financial strategy, operational finance leadership, and ensuring alignment with group financial reporting and governance standards.

The VP of Finance supports the U.S. CEO/Managing Director & COO/Managing Director while ensuring transparency, compliance, and financial performance consistent with the expectations of a publicly traded German parent company.

Financial Leadership & Strategy:

  • Provide overall financial leadership for the U.S. entity.
  • Develop financial strategy supporting growth in U.S. defense markets.
  • Partner with the U.S. executive team to drive profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Align U.S. financial performance with group strategic objectives.

Group Reporting & Consolidation:

  • Responsible for E2E financial activity in Renk including both the treasury and accounting functions.
  • Responsible for development of standard accounting, analysis, and reporting procedures, and for exercise of overall financial control Review monthly BPR with RAM department heads.
  • Oversees Accounts Receivable/ Accounts Payable including processing receivables, ensuring timely and accurate charge entries, preparing deposits, and invoices.
  • Oversee financial reporting to the German parent company under IFRS.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data for group consolidation.
  • Manage reconciliation between U.S. operational reporting and group reporting standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between U.S. finance teams and group finance leadership in Germany.

Program & Contract Finance:

  • Oversee financial performance of U.S. defense programs and government contracts.
  • Monitor contract profitability, cost performance, and revenue recognition.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. government contracting regulations, including cost accounting and program reporting.
  • Support pricing and cost proposals for new defense contracts.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Manage monthly financial close and reporting to the German parent company.
  • Ensure alignment between U.S. GAAP operational reporting and group-level IFRS consolidation requirements.
  • Prepare financial packages for group consolidation and executive review.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and internal audit teams.

Regulatory & Government Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. defense contracting regulations (e.g., FAR/DFARS where applicable).
  • Ensure procedures and internal controls are Sarbanes-Oxley compliant and in government compliance with DCAA/DCMA.
  • Support government audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Maintain strong internal controls consistent with public company governance standards.

Operational Finance:

  • Partner with operations and supply chain to monitor cost performance and operational efficiency.
  • Provide financial guidance to program managers and business leaders.
  • Identify cost reduction and margin improvement opportunities.

Leadership:

  • Lead the U.S. entity finance organization including accounting, FP&A, compliance, and program finance.
  • Build strong finance leadership pipelines and develop high-performing teams.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the RENK US entity executive leadership team.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies.
