Job description

VP OF OPERATIONS — CLASS A LUXURY HIGH-RISE

LOCATION: Chicago, IL

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Our client is a premier owner-operator of Class A, ultra-high-rise multifamily trophy assets. To support their expanding portfolio, they seek a VP of Operations to introduce institutional discipline, hospitality-driven service, and operational rigor, freeing executive leadership to focus on strategic growth and capital relationships.

This hands-on leader will direct daily operations across these amenity-rich towers, establish scalable processes, and bridge building staff, asset management, and executives to elevate both resident and employee experiences.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A LEADER:

  • Own portfolio-wide operational performance across ultra high-rise towers, including budgets, staffing, vendor management, and Class A service delivery standards.

  • Design and implement scalable SOPs, reporting cadences, and KPIs that preserve trophy-asset standards while bringing consistency across buildings.

  • Build, mentor, and hold accountable a team of general managers, concierge/hospitality leads, and engineering staff; instill a culture of white-glove service and accountability.

  • Oversee complex high-rise building systems — life safety, elevators, amenity spaces, and concierge operations — ensuring uptime and resident satisfaction.

  • Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning; deliver clear, data-backed performance reporting across the portfolio.

  • Lead due diligence, transition planning, and operational ramp-up for new high-rise acquisitions or lease-ups entering the portfolio.

  • Identify and resolve operational risk before it surfaces, acting as an early-warning system for leadership.

THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU POSSESS:

  • 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience specifically within ultra high-rise, Class A, or luxury multifamily communities.

  • Deep familiarity with high-rise building systems, life safety/fire code compliance, amenity programming, and concierge or hospitality-style service models.

  • Proven ability to build and scale operational systems across a portfolio of trophy assets in a growth-oriented environment.

  • A hands-on, execution-first leader equally comfortable on-site in the tower and in the boardroom.

  • Strong financial acumen, with experience owning budgets, forecasting, and portfolio-level P&L accountability for high-value assets.

  • Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and ownership in an organization still building out its infrastructure.

PERKS & BENEFITS YOU'LL RECEIVE:

  • Compensation: Up to $240,000+ base salary, plus 25% performance-based annual bonus. Depends on experience.

  • Impact: A high-visibility seat at the leadership table with direct influence on company strategy and growth.

  • Benefits: Comprehensive health benefits, PTO, and retirement plan.

HOW TO APPLY & BE SELECTED:
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience. Performance-based bonus tied to third-party management contracts secured.

Send your resume to resumes@coryexecutive.com. Our team will reach out with next steps if selected. All inquiries held in strict confidence.
