Job description

Build the Pipeline. Win the Contracts. Own the Growth.

GTC is a precision aerospace and defense manufacturer with the capabilities, the people, and the ambition to grow — and we're looking for the executive who will make that happen. The VP of Business Development & Marketing is a seat at the leadership table, reporting directly to the President, with full ownership of how we identify opportunities, pursue customers, win contracts, and position this company for the next decade.

This isn't a role for someone who manages spreadsheets and attends trade shows. This is for a builder — someone who develops strategy, leads capture, cultivates the relationships that turn into long-term programs, and assembles a business development team that consistently outperforms.

This position is Management Incentive Eligible — because when GTC wins, the people who drove that growth should share in it.

What You'll Own

You'll lead the company's full business development and marketing function — from market intelligence and opportunity identification all the way through capture strategy, proposal development, pricing, contract negotiations, and contract launch. You'll own the pipeline, the backlog, and the bookings number, and you'll report monthly on the BD metrics, budget performance, and strategic growth indicators that keep the executive team informed and the growth trajectory on track.

On the strategy side, you'll develop and execute business development plans within targeted market segments, build deep market intelligence on customers, competitors, industry trends, and emerging defense programs, and bring price-to-win discipline to every major pursuit. You'll lead GTC's marketing and advertising activities and contribute to broader strategic planning — including capital investments, facility improvements, workforce development, and capability expansion — with a growth lens on everything.

On the customer side, you'll cultivate and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers inside existing and targeted organizations, represent GTC externally with customers, industry partners, suppliers, and strategic stakeholders, and be the kind of relationship builder that turns a first contract into a long-term partnership.

Cross-functionally, you'll be a true collaborator — working alongside program management, operations, engineering, finance, and supply chain to develop proposals and contracts that are not just competitive but executable. You'll also build, develop, and lead a high-performance BD team that can carry the mission forward at scale.

What You Bring

Ten or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in business development, sales, operations, engineering, or program management within aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing is the foundation. You've led capture strategy, negotiated contracts, and built customer relationships that lasted. You understand government contracting practices, you know how to read a market, and you bring the financial and business acumen to connect growth strategy to the bottom line.

A bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, marketing, or a related field is required. A master's degree in business management is preferred. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, and the interpersonal range to work effectively at every level of the organization round out the profile.

Why GTC

An executive role with genuine scope — you'll shape where this company grows, who we partner with, and what we become. A leadership team that's serious about strategy and invests in the people who execute it. Management Incentive Eligibility that ties your compensation to the growth you drive.

GTC is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V. All applicants are considered based on experience and knowledge, without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, ancestry, marital status, disability, or veteran status. We are committed to a workplace free from discrimination and harassment.
