Job Description

FOGG is seeking a dynamic and experienced sales leader to contribute to the success of the company and develop, implement, and execute sales strategies. Strategies will include identifying new market opportunities, and increase overall sales with new and existing customers. Strategies will also include layer in and aligning new technologies with specific customer and markets to grow both top line and bottom lines organizationally. The successful candidate will have extensive experience and close connections in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) market with a track record of success managing capital equipment sales to large multinational companies in this space. The successful candidate will also be an experienced manager of sales teams, understand business finance and exhibit a high technical (mechanical, electrical, chemical) aptitude. A measure of success for the position will be meeting business development benchmarks and maintaining and growing sustainable revenue.

The position reports to the Vice President & General Manager of FOGG FILLER. The position is a member of the FOGG Leadership Team, which is a strategic, cross-functional group of leaders that oversee all aspects of the business. Although not required, the candidate preferably will reside in or be willing to relocate to the Holland, MI area.

Responsibilities are listed below and will be accomplished utilizing both staff and hands on efforts:

  • Increase domestic customer base and add to existing customer profitability
  • Develop and implement market-driven strategies to achieve revenue goals and the company's mission
  • Act as primary point of contact for internal sales team and external constituents (agents, field representatives, etc.)
  • Act as primary point of contact for current Key Accounts and identify and develop new Key Accounts
  • Negotiate and finalize contract negotiations, working with management and legal counsel as required to finalize master agreements
  • Foster, promote and facilitate cross-selling of company-wide products, services, capabilities, and systems focusing on growing ProMach's North America business
  • Promote a customer-centric focus and consultative customer relationships
  • Develop and maintain high-profile external relationships within customer constituents, trade organizations, etc.
  • Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets
  • Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly in alignment with management objectives
  • Represents company at trade shows/association meetings to promote our organization and products
  • Develops and implements Sales staffing strategy, and manages a sales team
  • Sources, interviews and hires in accordance with staffing plan
  • Leads, mentors and develops the careers of the sales team
  • Develops and maintains product line structure, team tracking/activity/CRM
  • Pipeline's projections and revenue for territories
  • Develops and reports the "Monthly Commit" sales forecast to the General Manager and ensures those sales close as predicted with 90%+ accuracy.
  • Other duties as required to meet the needs of the customer

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field
  • 10+ years' experience in capital equipment sales
  • 5+ years' experience managing a national sales team
  • Approaches difficult situations with confidence and tact.
  • Is an accomplished and polished presenter to a variety of audiences, including C-suite.
  • Manages and develops leads to completion using SalesForce.com
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Is professional, ethical and persuasive
  • Proven leadership skills as a sales/business/technology development executive in the CPG industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of building business and customer relationships.
  • Experience managing contract negotiations.
  • Self-motivated professional managing customer correspondence and all travel plans as necessary to delivered desired results
  • Proven history of increasing revenues to meet benchmarks and company goals.
  • Extensive travel, (50-75%) domestic and some international, will be required.
