Our mission is to provide quality, accessible and patient-centered eye care.
Consider joining Ascend Vision Partners and an organization committed to delivering exceptional eye care through physician-led practices supported by a high-performing, patient-centered operating platform. Team members are expected to demonstrate professionalism, accountability, collaboration, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to our patients, physicians, employees, and payer partners.
Our vision is to create an admired healthcare company dedicated to delivering personalized eye care with outstanding patient outcomes.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, high-impact Vice President of Capitated Service Lines.
This is not just an executive role. It is a General Manager position with full P&L ownership over our rapidly growing capitated ophthalmology business across Florida and Texas.
You will be the strategic architect and operational driver. Your mission is to balance world-class clinical outcomes with sharp financial sustainability. You will sit at the intersection of payer strategy, clinical efficiency, and regional operations.
1. Full P&L Ownership & Growth
  • Drive profitability across all capitated risk arrangements.
  • Optimize revenue while managing medical and operating costs.
  • Develop strategies to scale provider capacity and productivity.

2. Payer Strategy & High-Stakes Negotiations
  • Serve as the primary face to Medicare Advantage plans, MCOs, IPAs, and TPAs.
  • Lead contract negotiations and renewals to secure economically sound risk agreements.
  • Analyze the economic and clinical implications of complex managed-care contracts.

3. Integrated Operational Excellence
  • Align cross-functional leaders in Finance, RCM, Patient Access, and IT.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to optimize patient access and utilization management.
  • Ensure a seamless, high-quality patient journey across all clinics.

Who You Are
  • A Proven P&L Owner: You have managed complex business lines in healthcare, ideally within value-based care, risk capitation, or managed care.
  • A Master Negotiator: You understand health plan economics, PMPM structures, and how to build data-driven cases for contract improvements.
  • A Strategic General Manager: You look past retrospective reports to find the operational drivers of financial success.
  • A Collaborative Leader: You know how to unite doctors, finance executives, and operations managers under one vision.

Why Join Ascend Vision Partners?
We are building an integrated, financially sustainable future for specialized eye care. If you want the autonomy to run a multi-state business line and the support of a premier clinical network, let's talk.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
  • Minimum of five years of significant leadership experience involving managed care, capitation, value-based care, payer contracting, healthcare operations, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating material healthcare payer contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial performance and operating budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives within a multi-site healthcare organization.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
  • LEAN Six Sigma certification or other recognized process-improvement certification preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Vice President, Ophthalmology Capitated Service Line will provide executive leadership and direction for the Capitated Service Line across Florida and Texas. The position will work through a combination of direct leadership, matrixed functional relationships, and regional operating leadership to achieve service-line objectives.
The Vice President is responsible for establishing performance expectations, operating standards, accountability mechanisms, and management routines necessary to achieve the financial, operational, payer, and patient-care objectives of the Capitated Service Line.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY OF POSITION:
  • Ability to communicate effectively through speaking and listening.
