Overview
We have an immediate need for a Vice President - Infrastructure Engineering Practice Leader based in our New York City office. This is a senior leadership role responsible for growing and coordinating LiRo-Hill's Infrastructure Engineering Practice across regional markets including New York City, New York State, New Jersey, and New England.

LiRo-Hill is a 1,100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston, and Edison, NJ. This position represents a unique opportunity to lead a growing infrastructure platform backed by established regional teams, multidisciplinary resources, and long-standing public agency relationships throughout the Northeast.
We are seeking a senior infrastructure leader with strong regional market experience, established public agency relationships, and the ability to lead multiple practice areas through trusted local leads. The role is expected to provide strategic direction, client leadership, technical credibility, and operational oversight for infrastructure services that may include bridge engineering, roadway and highway design, traffic engineering, hydrology and hydraulics, bridge inspection, load rating, rehabilitation, and related transportation infrastructure services.
This is a seller-doer executive leadership role for someone who can grow the practice, strengthen client relationships, mentor senior regional leaders, and help position LiRo-Hill for larger and more strategic infrastructure opportunities across the Northeast.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the growth, coordination, and strategic direction of LiRo-Hill's infrastructure engineering practice across NYC, New York State, New Jersey, and New England.
  • Serve as a senior client-facing leader for infrastructure opportunities with agencies, authorities, municipalities, and public-sector clients across the greater New York, New Jersey, and Northeast markets.
  • Provide leadership across transportation and infrastructure service areas, including bridge, roadway/highway, traffic, hydrology and hydraulics, bridge inspection, load rating, rehabilitation, and related civil/structural infrastructure work.
  • Support and guide regional infrastructure leads, including local bridge and transportation leaders, while maintaining accountability for growth, quality, staffing, and financial performance.
  • Lead and support business development efforts, including client engagement, pursuit strategy, teaming, proposal development, interviews, and industry participation.
  • Oversee project delivery performance for infrastructure assignments, including scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, risk management, and client communication.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary resources across LiRo-Hill's civil, structural, transportation, architecture, MEP, environmental, and construction management teams.
  • Strengthen internal standards, technical delivery practices, QA/QC processes, and resource sharing across offices and regions.
  • Mentor, develop, and recruit senior technical and project management staff to support continued growth of the infrastructure practice.
  • Monitor and manage utilization, project financial performance, backlog, forecasting, and staffing needs in coordination with department and regional leadership.
  • Represent LiRo-Hill at industry events, professional organizations, agency meetings, and strategic client engagements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive infrastructure engineering experience, with significant leadership responsibility in transportation, bridge, roadway, or related public infrastructure markets.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; New York PE strongly preferred. Additional licensure in New Jersey, Massachusetts, or other Northeast states is a plus.
  • Strong experience in the New York, New Jersey, or broader Northeast infrastructure market, with established relationships and credibility with relevant city, state, authority, and regional public agency clients.
  • Demonstrated success leading business development, client relationships, major pursuits, and growth of engineering services or practice areas.
  • Strong understanding of bridge, roadway, transportation, inspection, rehabilitation, and related civil/structural infrastructure delivery.
  • Proven ability to lead senior professionals, manage through regional leads, and develop high-performing technical and project delivery teams.
  • Strong project management and operational background, including staffing, financial performance, risk management, and quality oversight.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across offices, disciplines, and regions while leveraging a broad technical bench.

  • Compensation: Minimum: $225,000; Maximum: $275,000. The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on the individual candidate's qualifications and location.
