Job description

The Clinical Supervision Lead provides direct patient services to an assigned caseload and coordinates clinical supervision activities in accordance with evidence-based treatments approved by Bowen Health leadership. As a key member of the local leadership team, this role assists in implementing, training, and supporting clinical initiatives that align with Bowen's core values. Additionally, the CSL offers high-quality supervision and mentoring to prepare supervisees for success in healthcare, ensuring positive patient outcomes and alignment with future clinical practice trends and international standards. Travel between Bowen Health locations may be required for this role.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Below are the primary duties and essential functions of an employee in this position. While not all tasks may be performed by every employee in this role, all employees are expected to perform related tasks as needed. These essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Implement deliberate, evidence-based practice utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Understand and implement the "Master Clinician" model into practice and influence other providers to also implement.
  • Lead using data. Using provided reports to help local staff in improving outcomes and retention in cooperation with leadership teams.
  • Practice, teach, and holds others accountable for the routine use of outcome measures to plan and guide treatment.
  • Break down traditional specialty "silos" of behavioral health practice (e.g. mental health vs. substance use) to the benefit of Bowen Health and those we serve.
  • Advocate and practice providing services with a diverse patient population.
  • Understands the chronic disease model of addiction and endorsed current evidence-based practices.
  • Practices, teaches and holds others accountable for doing concurrent, collaborative (conversational) documentation.
  • Implement flexible scheduling to "deliver interventions" rather than "doing sessions" in a "one size fits all fashion including brief intervention treatment models.
  • Understand, practice and teach principles of trauma-informed, attachment sensitive care.
  • Coordinate and help others coordinate with Skills Coach Leaders and Skills Coaches to support quality care.
  • Advocate for referrals and linking to services to support an integrative care model of treatment. Referrals include but not limited to community resources, medical providers and transportation services.
  • Advocate for a systems-informed perspective in client care, seeking to involve a variety of supports, significant others and caregivers in patient care.
  • View and work with patients holistically.
  • Advocate for and practice in a welcoming, inclusive and non-discriminatory manner.
  • Uses data to inform decision-making and collaboration with leadership.
  • Serve as back up for the Vice President of Clinical Services, Clinical Director, and Assistant Clinical Directors when they are not available.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Occupational Exposure Risk Classification: The normal work routine involves minimal exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
  • The normal work routine has a minimal ergonomic risk for repetitive motion impairment.
  • The position may require a minimal amount of physical exertion (bending, lifting, twisting) in the work area.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's level degree in psychology or related field, Ph.D. or PsyD from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Prefer two (2) years of behavioral health experience post-licensure. Prefer one (1) year of leadership experience.
  • Certificate or Professional License:
    • Active temporary license and/or associate license in the state of Indiana and actively working towards LCAC, LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or HSPP licensure.
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - Certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid - Certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.
  • Valid driver's license and active auto insurance coverage.
  • Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks
  • Must be a minimum 21 years of age.
