Job description

I’m hiring a Chief Operating Officer / VP Operations for a well-backed climate infrastructure / robotics company in Berkeley.

The company is building intelligent robotic systems for large-scale physical-world applications across land, infrastructure, restoration and climate resilience.

This is a hard-tech business where the product is complex to build, complex to deploy, and has to work reliably in demanding real-world environments.

The role is for someone who can help build the operating system of the company as it scales — across deployment, customer delivery, internal operations, strategic initiatives, commercial execution and company-building.

You could currently be a:

  • COO
  • VP Operations
  • Head of Operations
  • Chief of Staff
  • GM
  • BizOps / Strategy & Operations leader
  • Founder-adjacent operator

The ideal person has helped build a venture-backed company from early stage into repeatable scale. That could be from robotics, deeptech, hardware, climate tech, infrastructure, energy, aerospace, industrial automation, AI, software, IoT, logistics, marketplace, fintech, healthcare, or another high-growth startup environment.

What matters most is that you have seen the journey from early-stage ambiguity into repeatable execution — building the cadence, systems, teams, metrics, commercial motion and cross-functional structure needed as a company grows.

You’ll work directly with the founders and leadership team to:

  • Build operating cadence, planning rhythms, metrics and accountability systems
  • Own strategic initiatives across deployment, customer delivery, finance, people, vendors and internal systems
  • Create scalable processes for project delivery, customer onboarding, field execution and cross-functional execution
  • Partner on hiring, fundraising, investor updates and board materials
  • Help translate a complex physical-world technology product into a repeatable commercial and deployment motion

This is a Berkeley-based, on-site role.

If you’ve helped build a high-growth company through a major scaling phase and want to take on a defining COO / VP Ops seat, I’d be interested in speaking.
