Job Summary

AerCap is seeking a highly motivated professional to join AerCap Engines in the role of Vice President of Engine Rental Operations. Reporting to the Head of Portfolio & Rental Operations, the Vice President of Engine Rental Operations will play a key role in delivering best-in-class customer support and maintaining strong partnerships with GE Aerospace fleet teams and senior management. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the placement of short-term spare engine rentals, supporting the GE Aerospace Product Support Pool through the placement of short-term leases, and managing specific portfolio asset categories. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication and relationship management skills, a strong results-oriented mindset, and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute across multiple concurrent objectives.


Essential Functions of the Job

  • Serve as the primary commercial interface with airlines, GE Aerospace, Shannon Engine Support (SES) and other industry stakeholders, negotiating short-term engine lease agreements, extensions, and associated engine transactions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, OEMs, and key industry partners, fostering long-term collaboration and ensuring a high standard of customer engagement throughout each transaction.
  • Lead cross-functional transaction teams to ensure the timely review, approval, and execution of short-term rental opportunities in accordance with established approval authorities and business objectives.
  • Drive achievement of revenue, utilization, and pricing targets across all short-term lease placements and contract extensions.
  • Partner closely with the Engine Leasing Commercial team to identify, develop, and execute engine placement opportunities that maximize short-term rental activity and portfolio performance.
  • Act as the principal liaison with SES, securing transaction approvals and managing the placement of owned and serviced CFM spare engines.
  • Contribute to the spare engine investment framework through market analysis, portfolio planning, and the maintenance of regularly updated supply and demand assessments for assigned engine types.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of operational processes, performance metrics, and reporting frameworks to enhance rental pool optimization, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the objectives of the Engine Portfolio team.


Experience/Education

  • Degree qualification, in finance, accounting, aeronautical engineering or related business discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years' relevant professional experience, within aviation, engine leasing, or aircraft leasing.


Technical/Functional Experience

  • Demonstrated experience within the engine leasing, aircraft leasing, or broader aviation industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven ability to interpret complex data and make sound commercial decisions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, quality, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to prepare and deliver professional presentations and engage effectively with airline customers, OEMs, and senior management stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience of systems and a strong process and compliance mindset.
