Job description

Stream is on a mission to bring financial wellbeing to all workers.

We partner with some of the world's most well-known employers, like Crate & Barrel, Driven Brands, General Electric, New Balance, Restaurant Brands International (RBI) and others, to give their teams access to fairer financial services. Over 3 million people track their shifts and earnings, start their first savings account, use budgeting tools, access financial education and choose when they want to get paid. All in one smartphone app.

Stream is unique: VC-backed and growing at scale-up pace, but with a social conscience. Some of the world's leading financial charities and impact funds were our founding investors.

You'd be joining a team of over 250 passionate, ambitious people across the UK, Europe and US, building a category-leading FinTech product with the mission to improve the lives of millions.

The Role

We're looking for our second US-based VP of Product to own the strategy, roadmap and delivery of Stream's Workplace Finance and Loans portfolio in the US. You'll partner with our existing US VP of Product (who owns Pay, Coach and our Spend card) to lead roughly half of our US product surface area.

Workplace Finance and Loans sit at the heart of Stream's mission. These are the products that help workers save for the first time, build credit, and access fair, employer-backed lending. They're also a major engine of Stream's commercial growth in the US, and ripe for a step change in ambition.

This is a high-ownership executive role. You'll set the vision, build and grow the team, ship the work, and own the outcomes. You'll work closely with Engineering, Design, Compliance, Commercial and Operations leadership, and you'll report directly to our Chief Product and Technology Officer.

What You'll Own Portfolio Strategy & Delivery (50%):
  • Own the end-to-end roadmap for Workplace Finance and Loans in the US, from discovery through to launch and iteration
  • Set a clear vision for how these products evolve to drive measurable improvements in worker financial wellbeing and durable commercial performance
  • Translate user needs, market dynamics, competitive signal and regulatory context into a prioritized, defensible roadmap
  • Partner with Engineering and Design leadership to ship at pace without sacrificing quality or compliance
  • Define and track the metrics that matter for the portfolio, and hold the team to them
Team Building & Leadership (30%):
  • Build, mentor and grow a team of Product Managers covering Workplace Finance and Loans
  • Coach PMs through complex product, regulatory and commercial trade-offs
  • Foster a culture of customer obsession, evidence-based decision-making, and shipping speed
  • Recruit and onboard top-tier US product talent as the team scales
Cross-functional & Executive Partnership (20%):
  • Partner with the US VP of Product covering Pay, Coach and Spend card to ensure a coherent overall member experience
  • Work alongside Sales, Client Success and Marketing to drive adoption, retention and expansion across our enterprise customer base
  • Engage directly with employer customers (the calibre of Crate & Barrel, GE, RBI, New Balance) to inform strategy
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal on operating responsibly in regulated US financial services
  • Represent Stream's US product strategy to the executive team and board where needed
About You
  • 8+ years in product management, with at least 3+ years in senior leadership roles, ideally at a high-growth FinTech or financial services scale-up
  • Track record of building, scaling and shipping consumer or workplace financial products at meaningful scale
  • Strong leadership of PM teams: hiring, coaching, performance management, and creating an environment where great PMs do their best work
  • Comfortable operating in regulated environments and partnering closely with Compliance and Legal
  • Quantitative and analytical by default: you set up the metrics, look at the data, and let it inform what you ship
  • Strong commercial instincts; you can connect product investment to revenue, retention and unit economics
  • Excellent communicator and partner across the executive team, from Engineering to Commercial to the C-suite
  • Mission alignment: you care about financial wellbeing for working people, not just product polish
  • Prior experience with savings, lending, credit-building or workplace financial products is a strong plus
  • Experience scaling product teams across geographies (US and UK/EU) is a plus
Salary:

From $250,000 to $320,000 base + Bonus, Equity & Benefits

Location:

We operate a hybrid working policy; 3 days a week from our New York office.

What will we do for you?
  • 20 Days vacation in addition to federal holidays, as well as flexible time off allowances for any ad-hoc childcare/family/caring needs
  • 12 weeks paid Maternity Leave and 2 weeks paid Paternity Leave for employees with over 12 months service
  • Health, dental and vision benefits (a number of these benefits are paid in full for the employee)
  • We want to invest in you financially, so we have a 401K program

And of course, the best benefit of all, access to Stream!

At Stream we celebrate and support our differences. We know employing a team rich in diverse thoughts, experiences, and opinions allows our employees, our product and our community to flourish. Stream is an equal opportunity workplace. We are dedicated to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity/expression, or veteran status.
