Leading cardiovascular center in central North Carolina invites a board eligible or board certified fellowship trained Electrophysiologist to join our highly collaborative team. FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a private, community-based health care network serving 15 counties in the mid-Carolinas.
Position Highlights
About the Opportunity:
  • Clinical responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Practice at FirstHealth's flagship campus, Moore Regional Hospital (MRH) in Pinehurst, NC. The Reid Heart Center - on the MRH campus - has 4 cath labs and 3 EP labs. It is the only dedicated comprehensive heart and vascular hospital in the region.
  • Available services include simple to complex ablations, lead extractions, Watchman implants, TAVR, MitraClip, CardioMEMS, ASD/PFO closure, Impella, and a CTO program.
  • Current and projected volumes support 4 EPs and 3 EP labs. With one EP physician retiring summer 2026, we are looking for the new EP to start Summer 2027 or sooner.
  • Hospital employment with the FirstHealth Physician Group, a physician-led, multi-specialty medical group of 450+ providers, including 6 general cardiologists, 2 interventionalists, 1 electrophysiologist, and 3 cardiothoracic surgeons.
  • Exceptionally collegial relationship with Pinehurst Medical Clinic, a local multi-specialty private practice that includes 5 general cardiologists, 3 interventionalists, and 3 electrophysiologists (one retiring).

Qualifications
Qualifications of Successful Candidates: (required unless otherwise noted)
  • Completion of an accredited clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship and board certification or eligibility.
  • Experience with implantation of pacemakers and ICDs including biventricular devices and leadless pacemakers, ablation of all atrial and ventricular arrhythmias including left-sided approach, and AF ablation. Trained in Watchman procedures or be willing to train.
  • Training in lead extraction preferred.
  • Unrestricted NC medical license, NC DEA, and ACLS certification through AHA.
  • Ability to meet credentialing requirements for active medical staff at FHMRH.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure optimal interaction with a diverse patient population.
