Job description

Travel Resorts of America is seeking to add a Vice President of Consumer Finance and Member Engagement to our Executive Leadership team. Travel Resorts of America currently operates seven premium, membership-based Camping Resorts in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Whether an RV owner, tent-camper, or booking a cabin, there are plenty of options for our members to choose from, along with amazing campground amenities with unique adventures and activities!

This position will report to and partner with the President. The Vice President of Consumer Finance and Member Engagement will set Travel Resorts of America’s (TRA) consumer finance and member engagement operating policies and direction while also being an active participant in, and driver of, the organization’s overall strategy. The VP will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all operations-related activities of the consumer finance company and member engagement department. This will include direct responsibility for administration, strategic planning, budgeting, hiring, training, and legal.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the senior management team.
  • Create the departmental strategic plans for the development of a world class consumer finance company and member engagement department.
  • Partner with the President on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations to the President.
  • Lead the department in implementing the strategic plan that develops the departments from managing $25MM and 16,000 members in the anticipation of doubling the portfolio in one year and doubling it again in three years.
  • Implementing Best Practices and Best in Class operational procedures.
  • Liaises with the Chief Finance Officer to attract and successfully negotiate with financial institutions to obtain improved or additional financing and hypothecation lines to monetize the Company’s consumer receivable portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
  • Provide guidance on attracting, hiring, training, and developing key team members for the billing, collections, and member services department.
  • Drive the ongoing optimization of servicing processes by leveraging automation and upskilling talent; promote higher levels of efficiency and improved member experiences while adhering to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Delegate responsibilities to subordinates and provide guidance and direction.
  • Set clear goals, objectives, KPI’s, and be responsible for the overall successful operation of the team.
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BS in business, accounting, finance, or related field strongly preferred, but equivalent career experience considered.
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible operations leadership roles in a consumer finance related industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Mature and proactive, with evidence of having worked as a true business partner to the chief executive.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing billing, collections, finance, budgeting, project management, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Needs to be a team player who is committed to lifelong learning.  Strong EQ style a plus.
  • A hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
  • An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills.
  • Competent with current receivable, calling and CRM technologies and comfortable with technological change.
  • Strong commitment to developing team members.
  • Willing to take responsibility and act independently when necessary.
  • Experience with Acquisitions and/or Resort Operations – helpful but not required
