Job description

Ghost is a data-driven distribution platform for the best brands in the world. We partner with leading streetwear, apparel, footwear, beauty, and home goods brands to unlock new revenue for all types of inventory. Through transparency, data insights, and a network of vetted buyers, Ghost empowers sellers to diversify and optimize their inventory management. Backed by top VC firms (Cathay, USV, Equal, Eniac, L. Catterton), Ghost is one of LA’s fastest-growing startups.

About the Role

We are looking for a VP, Sales to work closely with our SVP of Revenue to help lead Ghost through its next phase of growth—someone who enables sales teams to thrive while driving revenue growth, transaction volume, and long-term customer retention. You will be responsible for scaling sales operations, building strategic partnerships, and overseeing the full B2B sales cycle of our 2-sided marketplace — from prospecting through retention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing revenue teams that directly manage our buyers and sellers across our wholesale, discount / surplus, and streetwear businesses
  • Ensure our marketplace has sufficient, top-tier supply from our existing customer base to drive GMV success
  • Build a performance-driven, collaborative sales culture rooted in accountability, data-driven insights, transparency, and growth
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company goals and customer success outcomes
  • Support the management of relationships with large-scale enterprise accounts, ensuring high retention, share of wallet growth, and category expansion
  • Oversee pipeline management, sales forecasting, and performance analytics using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot), running weekly meetings with the sales team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Operations, Operations, and Engineering, Product, and Design to deliver seamless customer experiences
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations to use data-driven insights to identify trends, optimize strategies, and make informed decisions
  • Foster a customer-first culture focused on partnership, trust, and long-term value
Qualifications
  • 10+ years in B2B sales, account management, or customer success, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in scaling sales teams and operations is essential
  • Background in managed marketplaces, excess inventory solutions, or supply chain management is highly desirable
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale enterprise accounts, with a focus on driving repeat business and long-term partnerships
  • Experience in developing and executing sales strategies that align with customer success objectives, emphasizing retention and growth over new customer acquisition
  • Expertise in CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot) for pipeline management, forecasting, and performance analytics
  • Strong analytical skills to assess sales performance, customer behavior, and market trends, enabling informed strategic decisions
  • Ability to design and implement scalable sales processes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the sales team
  • Familiarity with integrating sales tools and technologies to streamline operations and improve customer engagement

Our salary range for this position can range from $200k - $230k, with a team performance-based commission structure. The actual amounts may vary based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Benefits
  • Medical, Vision, and Dental with some plans covered at 100%
  • Competitive compensation and equity structure
  • 401K
  • Unlimited PTO
