Job Overview

The Vice President, Development Manager is responsible for providing engineering leadership across multiple software development teams supporting Trading Technology platforms. This role oversees technology strategy, cloud modernization efforts, engineering delivery, platform reliability, and organizational development. The VP partners with Architecture, Product, Data, Business, and Infrastructure teams to design and implement scalable cloud-based solutions while promoting engineering excellence and operational stability across critical trading systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead software engineering teams responsible for developing, modernizing, and supporting trading platform applications and services.

  • Define and execute cloud modernization strategies leveraging AWS and enterprise platform technologies.

  • Partner with Architecture, Product Management, Data, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to align technology investments with strategic objectives.

  • Drive the design, development, and deployment of scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native and hybrid platform solutions.

  • Establish engineering standards, development best practices, modernization frameworks, and software delivery processes.

  • Support implementation of cloud services including compute, storage, container, database, integration, and API technologies.

  • Promote self-service platform capabilities, automation, and engineering productivity improvements.

  • Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, solution design, mentorship, and engineering governance.

  • Ensure platform performance, resiliency, availability, disaster recovery, and service-level objectives are met.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, inclusion, and innovation.

  • Monitor engineering delivery, quality, reliability, and operational performance metrics to drive successful business outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing software engineering teams, technology delivery, and engineering best practices.

  • 3+ years of experience designing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based solutions utilizing AWS services and modern cloud architecture principles.

  • 5+ years of experience developing or supporting distributed systems, messaging platforms, event-driven architectures, or related application technologies using languages such as C#, Java, or Python.

  • 7+ years of experience supporting high-availability, scalable, and performance-sensitive application platforms.

  • Experience within financial services, capital markets, trading technology, wealth management, fintech, or related regulated industries.

Pay Range:

$155,300.00 - $258,800.00
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
