Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Vice President of Commercial Strategy serves as the property's senior commercial executive, responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth across all guest-facing business lines. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader develops and executes an integrated commercial strategy that aligns casino marketing, player development, hotel and resort sales, brand management, and ensuring all channels work in concert to maximize revenue, expand market share, and strengthen guest loyalty.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on commercial execution. The Vice President partners closely with the executive team to identify growth opportunities, optimize commercial performance, and ensure alignment across all revenue-generating channels. The ideal candidate is a data-driven leader who can translate insights into action, build strong internal and external partnerships, and guide initiatives that enhance both business results and the guest experience.

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

The Vice President of Commercial Strategy exists to unify the property's revenue-generating functions into a single, integrated commercial strategy. Historically, gaming, hospitality, sales, loyalty, and marketing have operated independently. This role is responsible for bringing those disciplines together to create a cohesive commercial engine that maximizes revenue, strengthens guest engagement, and increases lifetime value.

Success in this role means creating seamless connections across the guest journey: introducing hotel guests to gaming and entertainment experiences, increasing visitation and spend through loyalty-driven engagement, expanding group and resort business, and ensuring the brand delivers a consistent and compelling value proposition across all touchpoints. Through this integration, the Vice President drives sustainable growth, market differentiation, and long-term guest loyalty

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Strategy & Revenue Leadership

  • Lead the property's integrated commercial strategy, driving profitable revenue growth across gaming, hotel, food & beverage, entertainment, and ancillary business lines
  • Develop annual and multi-year commercial plans with clear revenue targets, channel strategies, reinvestment frameworks, and growth initiatives
  • Identify and capitalize on cross-sell, upsell, and guest lifetime value opportunities across casino and hospitality segments
  • Monitor commercial performance and market trends, providing the CEO with actionable insights, recommendations, and strategic decision support

Casino Marketing & Player Development

  • Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight of the Director of Player Development & Casino Loyalty
  • Establish reinvestment strategy, theoretical thresholds, segmentation methodologies, and player value frameworks
  • Ensure accountability for host performance, productivity standards, portfolio management, and player retention initiatives
  • Oversee casino promotions, special events, player acquisition strategies, and loyalty-driven revenue growth

Hotel & Resort Sales

  • Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight of the Director of Hotel & Resort Sales
  • Establish group, corporate, leisure, and transient sales strategies aligned with property-wide revenue objectives
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key accounts, strategic partners, tourism organizations, and distribution channels
  • Align hotel sales initiatives with casino demand, entertainment programming, occupancy objectives, and major property events

Brand & Advertising Strategy

  • Champion the property's brand strategy, positioning, voice, and guest value proposition across all channels
  • Direct advertising strategy, including audience targeting, media investment, campaign planning, and performance measurement
  • Lead agency partners responsible for creative development, media buying, and campaign execution
  • Ensure a consistent brand experience across gaming, hospitality, food & beverage, entertainment, and community-facing initiatives

Digital, CRM & Loyalty

  • Oversee agency partners responsible for digital marketing, CRM, database marketing, and social media strategy
  • Establish loyalty and guest engagement strategies that drive visitation, retention, spend, and measurable revenue growth
  • Direct email, digital advertising, SEO/SEM, social media, and emerging-channel strategies through agency partnerships
  • Leverage guest insights, behavioral data, and CRM analytics to personalize communications and optimize lifetime value across casino and hotel segments

Agency & Vendor Management

  • Serve as the executive relationship owner for all outsourced marketing, advertising, digital, and CRM agency partners
  • Establish performance expectations, review outcomes, and hold partners accountable for measurable business results
  • Manage commercial and marketing budgets, including media investments, agency retainers, vendor agreements, and return-on-investment performance
  • Evaluate agency and vendor effectiveness, recommending changes and growth opportunities as business needs evolve

Executive Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute the property's growth strategy
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, HR, and department leaders to align commercial initiatives with organizational goals
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and guest-centric decision making
  • Develop leadership talent within the Commercial Strategy organization through coaching, mentorship, and succession planning.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In the first 90 days:

  • Complete a comprehensive assessment of commercial performance across gaming, hotel, sales, loyalty, marketing, and digital channels
  • Build strong working relationships with commercial leaders, agency partners, and key internal stakeholders
  • Identify immediate opportunities to improve revenue performance, guest engagement, and operational alignment
  • Present a 12-month commercial strategy to the CEO with clear priorities, growth initiatives, success metrics, and accountability measures

By end of Year 1:

  • Deliver measurable revenue growth across the property's core commercial business lines
  • Establish a unified commercial strategy that aligns gaming, hospitality, sales, loyalty, brand, and digital marketing efforts
  • Increase cross-property engagement through successful casino-to-hotel and hotel-to-casino marketing initiatives
  • Strengthen guest acquisition, retention, and loyalty performance through data-driven marketing and CRM strategies
  • Implement a differentiated brand and advertising approach that enhances market position and guest awareness
  • Ensure agency partners consistently perform against defined KPIs through structured performance reviews and accountability measures
  • Build a high-performing commercial organization focused on collaboration, innovation, accountability, and results

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial strategy, marketing, sales, revenue management, or related business functions
  • Demonstrated success within gaming, casino, hospitality, resort, or other consumer-facing revenue-driven environments
  • Proven track record leading multiple revenue-generating business functions, including gaming, hospitality, marketing, sales, loyalty, or customer engagement
  • Experience developing and executing strategic business plans, revenue initiatives, and market growth strategies
  • Strong analytical acumen, with the ability to interpret player data, STR reporting, CRM analytics, and commercial performance dashboards
  • Executive-level communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

Preferred

  • Experience serving as a Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, Senior Director, or comparable leadership role within a casino, resort, or integrated entertainment property
  • Deep understanding of player development, host management, reinvestment strategy, and loyalty-driven revenue models
  • Background in brand strategy, advertising, digital marketing, or customer acquisition in addition to sales and revenue leadership
  • Experience with CRM platforms, database marketing, and loyalty program strategy
  • Experience leading commercial transformation, organizational integration, or cross-functional growth initiatives

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A direct reporting relationship to the CEO and a key leadership role on the executive team
  • Broad commercial responsibility across gaming, hospitality, sales, loyalty, brand, and digital marketing functions
  • The autonomy to shape commercial strategy and the resources, partnerships, and support to bring that vision to life
  • A competitive executive compensation package, including salary, incentive opportunity, and comprehensive benefits
  • The opportunity to build and lead an integrated commercial model that drives growth, strengthens guest loyalty, and differentiates the property in the marketplace
  • A collaborative culture that values innovation, accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to exceptional guest experiences

We are seeking a commercially sophisticated leader who sees the bigger picture. Someone who understands that the strongest brands, the most loyal guests, and the best business results are achieved when gaming, hospitality, and guest engagement operate as one connected experience.
