Job description

Kody is scaling rapidly, and we’re looking for an exceptional VP of Engineering to lead our technical organisation through the next phase of growth. As a key member of the executive team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering strategy, culture, and execution. This is a role for someone who thrives in a high velocity, global and purpose driven environment.

As VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing engineering organisation aligned with Kody’s values and mission. You’ll define the technical vision, guide architectural decisions and ensure the delivery of scalable, secure and reliable platforms and products. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Operations to bring our roadmap to life while fostering a strong engineering culture rooted in technical excellence and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead the recruitment, development, and retention of a world-class engineering team.
  • Setting and executing the engineering vision and technical direction in partnership with executive and product leadership.
  • Defining and delivering engineering strategy that enables scalable and secure growth of Kody’s platform and services.
  • Drive engineering execution to ensure timely, high-quality delivery across all teams.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to track performance, code quality, system stability and deployment efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of feedback, mentorship and career development through structured reviews and ongoing coaching.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Operations to align on priorities and roadmap planning.
  • Champion modern development practices including CI/CD, testing, observability, and agile methodologies.
  • Oversee architectural planning and ensure sound technical decision-making across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
  • Manage engineering budgets, headcount planning and resource allocation in alignment with company goals.
  • Advocate for engineering needs and priorities at the leadership level, balancing business goals and technical feasibility.
  • Maintain and evolve onboarding processes, documentation, and workflows to support rapid team scaling.
  • Embed data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance into the Engineering culture.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams at high-growth tech companies or scale-ups (ideally in fintech or related industries).
  • Deep technical expertise across modern architectures and cloud-based platforms.
  • Strong track record of managing and growing high-performing, distributed engineering teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Passion for building secure, scalable, and customer-centric platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with agile development, DevOps culture, and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align engineering strategy with overall company objectives.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and thriving in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Access to competitive Health Insurance (Medical and Dental)
  • Access to $1,200 per year for Learning and Development
  • Flexible time off and generous leave policy
  • Participation in company equity or incentive plans
  • A collaborative, inclusive culture where your work is valued and recognised
