Position: Vice President, Finance Position Overview

The Vice President, Finance leads finance for the development, construction, and operation of Fleetโ€™s hyperscale and AI data center platform. This role owns financial strategy across current and future projects, with direct responsibility for FP&A and cost management/site controllership, and indirect oversight of tax incentives and financial systems/reporting.

This leader partners with senior management to support planning, forecasting, capital allocation, investment analysis, and key business decisions across the full lifecycle of data center projects. They also work closely with teams across design, engineering, construction, supply chain, procurement, legal, and accounting to manage financial performance end to end.

As the platform grows, this person will build scalable financial processes, controls, and reporting capabilities to support disciplined growth and strong execution. The role also presents recommendations and analyses to senior leadership and the Investment Committee.

Job Responsibilities

The candidate will have experience and practical expertise in the following:

  • Lead the annual budget, long-range plan, and monthly and quarterly forecasting processes for the data center platform, including executive financial reviews and performance updates.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and business modeling to support growth initiatives, profitability improvement, capital allocation, and major investment decisions.
  • Oversee development, construction, and operating cost forecasting across active and future data center projects to support financial discipline and strong project execution.
  • Establish and maintain financial controls, governance, and performance management processes across large-scale data center construction and operations.
  • Partner closely with Design, Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, Procurement, Legal, Accounting, and Operations teams to track performance, manage costs, and improve decision-making.
  • Support major vendor, procurement, customer, and commercial decisions through benchmarking, total cost analysis, and evaluation of financial risks and returns.
  • Oversee tax incentives and abatements, including opportunity assessment, compliance, and incorporation of incentive value into project underwriting and economics.
  • Strengthen finance systems, reporting, dashboards, and analytics to improve visibility, data quality, and decision support across a growing platform.
  • Drive process improvements across planning, reporting, controllership, and cross-functional coordination to improve efficiency, accountability, and operating discipline.
  • Lead and scale the finance organization, including direct management of core finance functions and indirect oversight of shared resources in a dotted-line structure.
  • Prepare and present business cases, investment recommendations, and financial insights to senior leadership and the Investment Committee to support strategic decisions.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant leadership experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, energy, industrial, real estate, or data center investments; data center industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading finance functions in high-growth, capital-intensive environments, including financial planning, capital allocation, project cost management, and executive decision support.
  • Strong understanding of large-scale infrastructure investment, project finance, construction cost governance, and operational finance.
  • Experience building, leading, and influencing cross-functional teams, including operating effectively in direct and dotted-line management structures.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, ERP systems, reporting, and business intelligence tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into strategic business insights and executive recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and investment committees.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with a proactive approach to process improvement, systems enablement, and organizational scaling.

Expected Salary Range

$240,000 - $300,000 Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus
