GENERAL SUMMARY
The Client Service Associate is responsible for partnering with AVP/VP, Client Service Manager and Relationship Managers to establish and manage relationships with commercial clients, providing exceptional internal and external client service, and is critical to enhancing the overall client experience at Cathay Bank for our commercial banking and assigned clients. This role reports to the AVP/VP, Commercial Client Service Manager and supports the AVP/VP, Client Service Managers, Relationship Managers, and Portfolio Managers for an assigned portfolio.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Partner closely with AVP/VP, Client Service Managers and Relationship Managers to onboard new clients, execute transactions per the correct approval and/or authorization acquired, focus on operational excellence and due diligence, and retain and grow relationships.
  • Serves as the backup for the AVP/VP, Client Service Managers as it relates to relationship management activities, day to day transactions and service-related matters, as well as operational controls for an assigned portfolio of clients.
  • Prepare, collect and review documentation for accuracy and completeness, open new accounts, research issues, process transactions and inquiries.
  • Along with AVP/VP, Client Service Manager and other bank Team Members, assist with new client onboarding and implementation of products and services.
  • Together with AVP/VP, Client Service Manager, or internal business partner, recommend, cross-sell, and coordinate the implementation of all deposit, treasury management, wealth, and international products and services that best compliments the client and their business.
  • Proactively and professionally manage client concerns, assist team members, provide prompt follow-up and appropriately escalate complex or sensitive matters to AVP/VP, Client Service Manager if needed.
  • Educate clients on banking products, services, and digital tools
  • Together with the AVP/VP, Client Service Manager engages with assigned clients to measure service levels, learn more about the client and their business, schedule appointments and discuss new opportunities.
  • Along with the AVP/VP, Client Service Manager develop cross-divisional relationships and collaborate with internal partners to fully understand client needs and provide the best client centric solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain the integrity of client data within all bank files and systems.
  • Perform general administrative and operational duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2+ year customer service, administrative, or banking experience preferred
    • Experience with windows-based applications; (Excel, Word, Power Point, Adobe, etc).
    • Experience with FIS Platform is preferable but not required.
    • Basic knowledge of banking products and services is helpful but not required.
    • Work effectively and concurrently manages competing priorities.
  • Skills/Ability:
    • Works with an appropriate sense of urgency and immediacy.
    • Strong professional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong project management, organizational and analytical skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Strong personal attributes to complete goals and resolve issues in a competitive and changing environment.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
    • Willingness to learn banking systems, policies and procedures
    • Bilingual English/Mandarin and/or Cantonese preferred
    • Commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining confidentiality

OTHER DETAILS
$24.38 - $26.59 / hour
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
