About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established, multi-entity organization based in Alaska with federal government contracting operations, is seeking an experienced Sr. VP of Finance and CFO to join its Executive Management team. This is a strong next step for a finance leader ready to take ownership of a full CFO mandate — reporting directly to the President and driving financial strategy across a consolidated, multi-organizational structure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead accounting talent management, financial reporting, and cross-functional team leadership
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of consolidated financial reporting under GAAP and applicable trust/tax basis reporting requirements
  • Build strong internal controls, federal contracting compliance (FAR/CAS), and audit readiness for DCAA/IRS reviews
  • Support corporate strategy for startups, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, pricing strategy, and margin optimization across contract types
  • Partner with the President/CEO and executive team on long-range planning
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and liquidity
  • Contribute to Board and shareholder initiatives
Qualifications
  • Master\'s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required
  • 10+ years of progressive financial, operational, and strategic experience
  • Prior experience serving as a CFO
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors
  • Experience overseeing financials for a $400M+ federal contracting business and a $250M+ commercial business
  • Track record building and leading finance/accounting teams
  • Based in Anchorage or elsewhere in Alaska, or willing to relocate
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with shareholder-owned or trust-reporting organizational structures a plus
