Position Summary

A leading consumer products company is seeking a Vice President of Strategic Growth & Business Development to build and lead its next phase of commercial growth.

This is not a traditional VP of Sales role focused on managing existing business. Instead, this executive will be responsible for identifying new revenue opportunities, expanding into new retail channels, developing executive-level customer relationships, and creating the commercial strategies that fuel long-term growth.

Reporting directly to executive leadership, this individual will serve as both a strategic leader and hands-on player/coach—personally driving key customer relationships while leading and developing a small remote sales team. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of winning new business, building commercial strategy, and influencing organizations at the executive level.

What You'll Do
  • Build and lead the company's Strategic Growth & Business Development function
  • Develop and execute long-term commercial growth strategies across new customers, channels, and partnerships
  • Identify, pursue, negotiate, and close strategic customer opportunities
  • Personally lead the Club retail channel while coaching a remote sales team supporting Home Center, Off-Price, and other growth channels
  • Build executive-level relationships with key retail partners and decision‑makers
  • Evaluate strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and adjacent market opportunities
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Finance, and Operations to execute growth initiatives
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a high‑performing commercial organization while driving accountability for revenue and profitability goals
What You Bring
  • 12+ years of progressive commercial leadership experience
  • Proven success developing new business and building strategic customer relationships
  • Experience within consumer products, housewares, CPG, manufacturing, retail, or related industries
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership and customers
  • Experience leading and developing sales teams in a player/coach environment
  • Strong financial, analytical, negotiation, and strategic planning skills
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30–40% as business needs require
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep experience selling into Costco or other Club retailers
  • Experience with Home Center and Off-Price retail channels
  • Background developing custom merchandising or consumer product solutions
  • Experience building commercial organizations and growth strategies from the ground up
  • Demonstrated success leading transformational growth initiatives
  • Experience working closely with executive leadership on corporate strategy
Why This Opportunity
  • Build a new executive function with significant influence over the company's future growth
  • Highly visible leadership role reporting directly to executive leadership
  • Opportunity to shape commercial strategy rather than simply execute an existing sales plan
  • Lead a remote team while personally driving strategic customer growth
  • Strong compensation package with annual bonus opportunity
  • Join a collaborative, growth-focused organization recognized as a Great Place to Work®
  • Opportunity to make a lasting impact by expanding new channels, winning strategic customers, and building long‑term enterprise value
