Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The National Vice President of Architecture is an integral member of the National Purchasing and Construction leadership team and provides business input related to the architecture and engineering professions. Responsibilities include developing and monitoring plan design standards for all projects and product types and is accountable for maintaining the department plan design standards for each product type. The National Vice President of Architecture is responsible for all phases of project design that comply with the projects program guidelines and financial constraints per the pro-forma.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • National Vice President of Architecture will oversee an architectural department that plans and designs diverse projects throughout the Division.
  • Shall schedule and manage architectural programs and design team activities providing quality assurance to all phases of the Design Documents.
  • Is the senior technical leader in the department, will play a key role in mentoring and coaching others.
  • Will lead and share knowledge, experience and skill sets with others.
  • Manage budgets, client relationships and oversee all design teams by working with the Development Managers and Preconstruction Managers in a collaborative effort.
  • Assures the high quality, coordination and completeness of drawings issued for construction.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor of Architecture or a related degree
  • General knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in an architectural office is required.
  • Strategic thinking to address issues and new concepts in design, production of documents, and development of detailing
  • Exceptional communication skills -- both written andverbal
  • Comfortable presenting ideas and solutions to leadership and key businesspartners
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel is required.
  • Proficient in CAD, Bluebeam Revu, MS Excel, PowerPoint, andWord
  • Valid Driver's License is required
