Overall Objective

The EVP, Account Director is responsible for gaining efficiencies, securing new and existing base of business, and maximize the talents of staff. Oversees a team of staff who manages the day-to-day administration of marketing and advertising initiatives for an assigned Automotive client. Taking a hands-on approach, they are instrumental in the development and implementation of new initiatives and assist in the development of marketing and advertising strategies.

Responsibilities

New Business:

  • Develop contact strategy to aggressively stay on radar of new business prospects
  • Create and negotiate new business proposals and contracts for Automotive clients
  • Initiate and guide development of quarterly and annual strategic marketing communications/advertising plan and tactics to address business goals and results
  • Create atmosphere that demands a business-building approach to Automotive Client’s business.
  • Utilize Agency resources to develop plans to grow business
  • Manage new business development process to build and nurture existing client relationships and eventually develop new ones

Client Leadership:

  • Responsible for lead strategy role in all business efforts for key accounts.
  • Work with client(s) within division as needed to secure and grow client and agency business
  • Monitor agency trends to anticipate Client needs, keeping the agency in a leadership position rather than reactionary position
  • Monitor and grow the key client’s business through the systematic and continual support and guidance of the Client’s marketing and advertising strategies
  • Lead staff to assist in developing client objectives through benchmarking principles, market/economic analysis and key metrics to assure clients achieve required results
  • Conduct annual strategic review/input sessions with Client Marketing management to discuss marketing communications plans, review objectives and strategies, and determine advertising needs
  • Develop business strategy solutions with comprehensive action plans
  • Integrate long-term strategy with short-term tactics

Internal:

  • Work with VP’s and SVP’s in operational strategy planning, forecasting and goals
  • Oversee development of key client objectives through benchmarking principles, market/economic analysis and key metrics to assure clients achieve required results
  • Analyze sales and result data to identify trends
  • Review and discuss results, performance changes and issues pertaining to Client performance
  • Remain in constant communication with Executives to ensure accurate reporting and understanding of market conditions that could affect business performance

Integrated Media:

  • Oversee research, development, sales and marketing strategies to successfully install new products and services or to revise existing product lines
  • Oversee new product development and existing product enhancement
  • Review sales/marketing programs and short and long-term sales strategies and objectives
  • Build client relationships that result in an increase in client revenue through effective and efficient business solutions
  • Work with SVP to identify continuously changing client needs and make appropriate sales presentations of how those needs can be met through the effective use of our integrated marketing products and services

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Chief Client Officer, EVP, Group Account Director, Lead Generation Executive or other related position in a full-service agency
  • Experience working with Automotive clients is required.
  • Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 Automotive experience is highly preferred
  • Must have 15+ experience in the Advertising and Marketing Industry
  • Proven sales/lead generation experience of advertising, marketing, media services solutions
  • Strong knowledge of the operations and functions within advertising and/or marketing companies, and the proven ability to sell solutions related to those organizations
  • Advertising, marketing, and/or media solution selling strongly preferred.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the overall media environment in addition to the Client(s) industry and business
  • A strong account management background, including past experience managing client accounts and supervising account teams
  • Proven leadership abilities and managerial experience as a disciplined team leader. Strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Great relationship building qualities
  • Experience identifying superior business building opportunities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while working independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with people at all levels of an organization
