FLSA Class: NON-EXEMPT

Responsible to: REGION TRANSPORTATION MANAGER/FIELD SUPERVISOR

Position Summary: The Transport Driver is responsible for transporting products safely between terminals, facilities and customer locations while complying with all federal, state, local, and company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer; report any mechanical issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Accurately maintain both electronic and paper daily driver logs and all necessary delivery tickets and bills of lading.
  • Load, transport, and unload fuel at terminals, stores, wholesale, and retail customers' tanks in compliance with company/terminal policies and guidelines for transporting hazardous materials.
  • Enter all load information into the electronic reporting system at time of loading and delivery.
  • Communicate with logistics department and field management on customer issues or safety concerns.
  • Maintain and promote professional relationships with all team members, terminal employees, customers, and guests.
  • Able to safely clean up a fuel spill or notify the correct personnel in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness of truck and trailer.
  • Model behaviors that support the company's common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level.
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Other Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.
  • Minimum one-year prior experience driving a combination vehicle required.
  • Maximum of two moving violations in the previous three-year period.
  • Hold and maintain a current Class A Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) with hazmat and tanker endorsements required; doubles where required by operation (hazmat endorsement not required for DEF transport drivers).
  • Qualify for and maintain a DOT medical examination certificate required Secure and maintain necessary terminal access and governmental identification (e.g., TWIC cards) where applicable.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations: Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), OSHA, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Team Members and customers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as pertain to fuel transport and delivery.
  • Ability to follow directives and work independently.
  • Ability to maintain a strong customer service focus.
