About Promise
Promise is a pioneering film and TV studio at the forefront of the generative AI revolution. Our mission is to reimagine what's possible in entertainment by bringing together the world's most visionary storytellers and GenAI creators, empowered by cutting-edge tools and proprietary workflows. Through bold collaborations and a forward-thinking approach to sourcing IP, we are building a dynamic slate of original and licensed projects that push creative boundaries. Backed by premier VC firms, Promise is shaping a new era in GenAI-powered storytelling, where creativity knows no limits.
Role Overview
The Producer, Hybrid AI, VFX & Virtual Production will be the central operational and financial leader for key projects on the Promise slate, managing all aspects of the production life cycle for hybrid, VFX, and animation content. Your expertise will be critical in developing production plans and budgets that accurately cost and leverage next-generation techniques, including GenAI asset and VFX projects. You will serve as the primary managerial link between creative leads, R&D engineering, and all production departments, ensuring high-budget projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to world-class standards.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Planning & Generative Costing
    • Lead the creation and management of comprehensive budgets for large-scale AI, VFX and animation-heavy film and series projects.
      • Develop and implement innovative financial modeling, including GenAI asset pipeline costing, to accurately predict and track costs associated with ML-driven workflows.
      • Manage all financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting to ensure projects remain within budget while maximizing creative output.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts, payment schedules, and resource allocation for external VFX studios, animation vendors, and specialized GenAI service providers.
  2. Virtual & Hybrid Production Management
    • Oversee and produce projects utilizing AI methodologies, that may include animation, LoRa training, etc.
      • Collaborate with the Supervisor and Director to plan and schedule production, ensuring smooth integration with AI and traditional techniques.
      • Develop and maintain complex production schedules that account for the unique demands of hybrid ML/VFX/Animation pipelines.
  3. Project Execution & Studio Leadership
    • Drive the successful execution of AAA films and premium episodic content, including both traditional and fully animated projects.
      • Act as the primary production leader, managing cross-departmental communication, mitigating risks, and maintaining a positive, professional, and efficient production environment.
      • Ensure all production goals are met, maintaining adherence to the highest technical, creative, and compliance standards (including IP/copyright for GenAI use).

Qualifications
  • Extensive, proven experience managing budgets for large-scale films and animation projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Character Animation, Environment Development, or Animation productions.
  • Understanding of GenAI asset pipeline costing or deep familiarity with the financial modeling required for GenAI/ML-driven production workflows.
  • Proven track record of managing a specific high-budget genre (e.g., sci-fi, fantasy, action, animation or anime).
Technical Skills / Qualifications
  • Expert-level proficiency in industry-standard budgeting and scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with the technical requirements and costs associated with Machine Learning and Generative AI tools as applied to asset creation.
  • Working knowledge of VFX and Animation pipelines (e.g., Nuke, Maya, Houdini, Blender) and real-time engine platforms (Unreal Engine).
  • Strong understanding of digital asset management, version control, and data transfer protocols for large-scale production.

Compensation
We offer a highly competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including equity.
Benefits
We believe in supporting our team's well-being and growth. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage, with employee premiums covered 100%.
  • Time Off: Generous paid time off (PTO) policy, including company holidays and sick leave.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) matching program to help you plan for your future.
  • Work Environment: A dynamic, creative, and inclusive hybrid work environment based out of our innovative studio.
