The Target Pay Range for this position is $18.00-$25.00 Hourly . At Mars, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.

Job Purpose/ Overview

Under the general direction of the Service and Production Supervisor, the Service & Production Technician I supports both service and production operations by performing basic troubleshooting, repair, testing, and production tasks on instrumentation. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting operational efficiency in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This role requires flexibility to support both service and production functions. Work assignments and responsibilities are subject to change based on business demands. Advancement into additional responsibilities or functional areas is determined by the supervisor based on successful cross-training, demonstrated proficiency, and business need.

Maintenance/Repair & Production: 90% of position responsibility

  • Performs troubleshooting, repair, and quality assurance testing on designated instrumentation following established procedures.

  • Supports production operations including inspection, testing, calibration, labeling, and packaging of instrumentation.

  • Ensures all instruments meet quality standards, proper configuration, and documentation requirements prior to release.

  • Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality system requirements.

  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with operational standards.

  • Collaborates with team members across service and production to meet operational goals and turnaround expectations.

  • Escalates product, process, or quality issues to leadership.

Documentation: 5% of position responsibility

  • Completes required service and production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation for service, production, and quality activities.

Other duties as assigned: 5% of position responsibility.

  • Supports training, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Technical Studies/AAS degree in Electronics or related field, or minimum of 3 years' experience in related field.

  • Biomedical Engineering, veterinary lab, and/or medical technology experience a plus.

Knowlege, Skills and abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the areas of basic electronics, fluidics must display electromechanical aptitude.

  • Competent in the use of basic diagnostic test equipment such as digital voltmeters, digital manometers, and electronic temperature monitors.

  • Ability to interpret fluidic and electronic schematic diagrams.

  • Ability to deliver a high level of quality and accuracy, with minimal-to-error-free results.

  • Excellent attention-to-detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective internal and external customer service skills including patience, ability to listen and ability to provide positive experience with all interactions.

  • Ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner, both verbally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive attitude to promote a healthy team environment.

  • Intermediate abilities with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Software and E-mail.
