Job description

This isn't a traditional BI or dashboard-development role. VCA is building a new Analytics, Data & Automation capability within Value Protection designed to turn data into measurable business opportunity.
The Senior Program Manager, Analytics, Automation & Value Discovery serves as the enterprise analytical discovery engine responsible for identifying, quantifying, prioritizing and enabling operational, financial, revenue, margin and performance improvement opportunities across VCA hospitals and support functions. The role connects disparate enterprise data, develops automated monitoring and exception-based reporting, and builds business intelligence and AI-enabled solutions that translate complex information into actionable insights. Working closely with Operations, Finance, Medical Operations, Risk, Revenue Cycle, Procurement, Inventory Management, Pricing, Compliance and Technology, the position improves enterprise visibility, strengthens accountability, reduces financial leakage and supports scalable activation of improvement opportunities.
This role requires associates to work a hybrid schedule out of one of the MVH North America Hub Locations - Vancouver, WA | Santa Monica, CA | Tampa, FL.
Essential Responsibility/Tasks:
  • Develop and maintain enterprise analytical frameworks that identify revenue opportunities, charge capture gaps, margin leakage, operational inefficiencies, inventory losses, pricing variances and compliance exceptions.
  • Design, build and maintain automated dashboards, scorecards, Power BI solutions, reporting tools, data models and executive-ready performance views.
  • Integrate and connect data across practice management, finance, inventory, procurement, payroll, compliance and other enterprise systems.
  • Create automated exception-monitoring and AI-enabled tools that proactively surface unusual trends, anomalies, financial leakage and emerging business risks.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Medical Operations, Revenue Cycle, Procurement and other functions to evaluate, prioritize, activate and measure opportunities.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses, root-cause investigations and scenario modeling; translate findings into clear executive recommendations.
  • Support ancillary revenue growth, charge capture, inventory optimization, pricing integrity, labor productivity and waste-reduction initiatives.
  • Develop KPI frameworks and benefit-tracking methods to measure adoption, financial impact, operational performance and sustainability.
  • Maintain data governance, reporting accuracy, documentation, access controls and quality standards for analytical products.
  • Evaluate emerging AI and automation capabilities and support pilots, enterprise transformation, RRMs and future Center of Excellence initiatives.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference is for a degree with emphasis in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics, automation, finance analytics, consulting, reporting or related fields. Experience in healthcare, veterinary, retail, multi-site operations, or enterprise transformation is preferred.
  • Power BI, Microsoft, data analytics, automation or project/program management certification is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Power BI, SQL, Power Automate, Microsoft 365, data modeling and reporting platforms is required. Experience with generative AI, copilots, machine-learning-enabled platforms, Python or cloud data tools is preferred.
  • English proficiency for executive presentations, technical documentation and cross-functional partnership.
  • Strong business acumen, communication, stakeholder management, and ability to manage multiple enterprise initiatives is required. Preferred experience includes ability to identify and measure revenue capture, margin improvement or operational performance opportunity.

*All degrees will be deemed "or equivalent combination of education and experience" unless absolutely required to do the job (i.e., DVM degree for Veterinarian, Law degree for Attorney, etc.).

Additional Information: Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,051 - $180,077.
