Animal Medical Center of Marquette (AMC) is a small-animal, companion-animal, general-practice veterinary hospital serving the Upper Peninsula. We’re searching for a Veterinary Client Service Representative (CSR) who can juggle phones, triage urgent calls, and keep our Cornerstone schedule running like clockwork—while delivering Fear Free, low-stress client and veterinary care.

Core duties:

  • Warmly greet pets and pet parents, collect medical histories, and verify vaccination status
  • Schedule wellness exams, urgent-care appointments, dental cleanings, surgeries, ultrasounds, digital radiography, and laser therapy in Cornerstone veterinary practice-management software
  • Answer a busy multi-line phone system, triage emergencies, refill prescriptions, process pharmacy requests, and route messages to DVMs, veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants
  • Generate and explain treatment plans/estimates, process invoices, apply discounts, and balance daily cash drawers
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMRs), SOAP notes, lab results, and imaging files
  • Coordinate pet admissions/discharges, anesthesia/surgery consent forms, vaccination certificates, heartworm prevention, flea & tick prevention, parasite control, and microchip registration

Must-have qualifications

  • 2+ years client-service experience (any industry)
  • Master multitasker who stays calm in a high-volume setting
  • Polished written & verbal communication and empathy for anxious clients
  • Consistently positive, solutions-oriented attitude and a proven record of being a collaborative, can-do team player
  • Ability to stand, kneel, or lift up to 40 lbs. to assist with patient handling

Nice-to-have extras:

  • 2+ years as a veterinary receptionist / client care specialist / veterinary CSR
  • Previous work in an AAHA-accredited or Fear Free Certified Practice
  • Fluent in veterinary terminology, vaccine schedules, prescription diets, preventive medicine, and common canine/feline medications
