Nestled deep in the beautiful bay area 5 minutes from downtown Annapolis is our new state-of-the-art referral center open 24 hours and 365 days a year. We have 24+ Veterinarians, 60+ Technicians, 15+ Assistants and 10+ Client Service Representatives. We work side-by-side with different specialty departments and care for their patients overnight. Diagnostic Assistants will gain experience working with neurology, surgery, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, rehabilitation and ophthalmology cases. It is a great field to develop your skills and there is always something new and exciting to learn in our spacious conference room where we host continuing education for veterinarians, nurses, dispatchers and assistants.

What You'll Get to Do:

The administrative specialist and client service representative will spend 30+ hours/week assisting a 24 hour 365 day emergency veterinary clinic in various administrative duties and client communication. This role works closely with the administrative and management team to organize files, create correspondence, prepare reports, or standard operating procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create morning transfer/consult report for technicians
  • Create SOAP notes for hospitalized patients
  • Invoice daily charges for hospitalized patients
  • Dispense medications for discharges
  • Review discharge paperwork with owners for ICU patients
  • Coordinate & facilitate transfers to specialty departments
  • Invoice charges for specialty consults
  • Call owners with results for bloodwork within normal range
  • Ability to sit for an extended period of time at a computer
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout shift in order to assist with discharges
  • Use slack to communicate with client service team and veterinarians
  • Answer phone calls from clients and referring veterinarians
  • Enter client and patient information into ezyvet

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


  • Mid-Level Veterinary Knowledge
  • Mid-Level Microsoft Outlook Experience
  • Mid-Level ezyVet Practice Management Experience
  • Mid-Level Smart Flow Whiteboard Experience


LANGUAGE ABILITY:


  • Ability to read and interpret general business correspondence, and client
    emails/letters.
  • Ability to write reports and basic business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English with
    managers, clients, co-workers, and the general public.


MATH ABILITY:


  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
    numbers, common fractions and decimals.
