Job description

Adecco is seeking call center/peer support staff for its client’s Veteran support group. The job is remote but we prefer local candidates. Pay rate is $21/hr, work is assigned for 20 hours per week. You can pick the days and hours. This would be a long term temporary assignment for about 52 weeks depending on grant funding.
The position provides 24/7, confidential support to active-duty service members, veterans, and military families. Specialists use their own shared military experiences to help callers navigate life's challenges, reduce isolation, and connect with resources before reaching a crisis.
Key Responsibilities
  • Peer Engagement: Build authentic, trusting relationships with callers by listening without judgment and sharing relevant personal military experiences.
  • Needs Assessment: Determine the specific needs of callers reaching out via phone, text, or chat, and develop tailored support plans.
  • Resource Navigation: Connect individuals with local and national resources, treatment facilities, or agencies.
  • Continuous Follow-Up: Check in on individuals regularly and work alongside them until their challenges or emotional transitions are resolved.
Typical Requirements
  • Military Background: Must be a veteran or an immediate family member/caregiver of a service member.
  • Lived Experience: Willingness to use personal experiences in the military community to build rapport and trust.
  • Skills: Strong active listening, conflict resolution, crisis management, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Pay Details: $21.00 per hour
