Veterans are individuals who have served in the armed forces of their country, typically having completed a period of active duty in the military, navy, air force, or other uniformed services. In the United States, a veteran is generally defined as someone who served honorably on active duty and was discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. Veterans may be entitled to various benefits, including healthcare, education assistance, and housing support, based on their service records. They play a vital role in society by contributing their skills, experience, and leadership both during and after their military careers.

What roles or responsibilities do veterans commonly transition into within civilian organizations, and how do their military skills translate to these positions?
