Position Summary

Verve Coffee Roasters is seeking a passionate and experienced Regional Wholesale Sales Manager for Southern California. This role, reporting to the Vice President of Sales, is crucial for driving organizational growth by acquiring new opportunities and partnerships. The ideal candidate is a creative, forward-thinking sales representative with a strong focus on closing deals and a deep understanding of our full product portfolio. As a key member of the sales team, you will engage in various sales and marketing activities to develop and expand our business throughout the region.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales to identify target markets, services, and clients in which to seek out new business opportunities.

  • Analyze potential customers to determine profitability and suitability.

  • Maintain proactive and purposeful new sales development activities with potential clients.

  • Ability to consistently meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals as determined by VP Sales.

  • Supported by a sales team including account managers, coordinate and prepare proposals and quotes for products and close sales.

  • Support and work collaboratively with other sales team members to leverage off activities in other regions to identify and achieve new sales in the target region.

  • Ability to manage a weekly pipeline of new sales activity.

  • Understand the underlying technology used by the company to deliver services and make a conscious effort to continually enhance this knowledge.

  • Conduct continuing market surveys to uncover and facilitate the pursuit of new business opportunities.

  • Conduct continuing competitive surveys/analysis to determine our business base, strengths, weaknesses, and use that information to focus sales efforts on gaining that business.

  • Consult with the Sales,Marketing and Brand on market development strategies and capability improvement needed to better meet current and anticipated marketplace opportunities.

  • Assist the Marketing team with the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs; prepare for and attend exhibits, conferences, meetings, and other local, regional, and national (as required) promotional opportunities.

  • Contribute to budget planning, forecasting and goal setting for the region.

  • Lead weekly account planning sessions for the LA region aimed at retaining and acquiring customers and increasing business opportunities

  • Manage strong Distribution relationships, including onboarding, training, and collaborating with Distributor Sales reps, where applicable

  • Follow all Verve policies, procedures, and processes

  • Have a passion for coffee!


Qualifications and Requirements

  • 5+ years of Sales Experience; Coffee Industry Experience a must and knowledge of training a plus

  • Strong background with the acquisition, retention, and re-engagement of customers.

  • Experience in development of sales tools, territory and pipeline management.

  • Strong knowledge of sales systems and tracking and utilization of sales related data.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective time management, organization and decision-making skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment.

  • Experience with CRM and Estimation/Quoting platforms as well as other Microsoft Office applications

  • Drive for continuous self-improvement and learning

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Self-motivated

  • Ability to travel at least 60% of the time (throughout the region) and Nationally (if needed).

  • Have a current valid driver’s license and be able to maintain a good driving record.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and location and includes a base salary and commission.
