The Commercial Lines Underwriting (CLUW) unit of Verisk Insurance Solutions is hiring a Senior Product Specialist - ProMetrix to lead and develop internal and external applications within the ProMetrix product development team. This role requires a strong blend of product leadership, analytical thinking, and insurance industry knowledge, with a particular emphasis on understanding carrier workflows and underwriting user needs. The ideal candidate can translate complex business problems into clear product requirements and partner closely with technology teams to deliver solutions that drive value for insurers.

    Bachelor's degree
    Minimum 2-3 years product owner or product specialist experience
    Experience creating, managing, and delivering on a solid product roadmap
    Basic understanding and experience with software development life cycle
    Solid understanding of software agile development principles
    Experience collaborating with design and engineering teams to deliver product features
    Experience analyzing and evaluating the successful metrics of digital technologies  
    Excellent organizational and project management skills with experience coordinating multiple, time-sensitive projects simultaneously

Preferred Background & Skills (Optional Add On)
   Experience in commercial insurance, underwriting, rating, or carrier operations strongly preferred.
   Demonstrated ability to understand end user workflows and how products fit into broader carrier ecosystems.

    Partner with product, underwriting, and operations stakeholders to define, document, test, and track product requirements that align with commercial insurance carrier workflows.
    Work closely with IT and development teams in an agile software development environment to ensure clear communication of requirements, priorities, goals, and timelines.
    Maintain consistent communication with operations and internal users to support a continuous cycle of feedback, development, release, and post release support.
    Collaborate effectively with colleagues across product, risk engineering, marketing, sales, information technology, and operations to ensure successful delivery of ProMetrix product objectives.
    Participate in the product component of sales opportunities by helping position ProMetrix capabilities, supporting proofs of concept, and ensuring customer confidence in how the solution supports underwriting and carrier processes.
    Engage directly with prospective and existing users to understand and anticipate underwriting and operational needs, translating them into clearly defined product requirements.
    Create and maintain a product roadmap aligned with product vision, business priorities, and market needs.
    Own and manage the product backlog, prioritizing features, enhancements, and defects based on business value, user impact, and delivery capacity.
    Oversee and contribute to all phases of product development, including ideation, design, development, testing, and release.
    Develop clear, well structured user stories in Jira that reflect real underwriting use cases and carrier requirements.
    Partner with the product team and end users to deliver high quality solutions for defects, enhancements, and new functionality.
    Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
