About the Role

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Cerritos, California, supporting multiple locations throughout California. As an HR Generalist, you'll spend time in the field partnering directly with employees, supervisors, and leaders to foster an engaging workplace, ensure compliance, and support our people throughout every stage of the employee journey.

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the HR Generalist serves as a trusted business partner, providing hands-on support while helping cultivate the Verde Vibes across every location.

  • Partner with leaders on workplace concerns, investigations, and employee relations matters.
  • Coordinate and support workers' compensation claims and leave of absence administration.

As an HR Generalist, you'll:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers across multiple worksites.
  • Conduct regular site visits to support frontline teams and leaders.
  • Partner with hiring managers throughout the full recruitment process for hourly and salaried positions.
  • Coordinate engaging new hire orientations that set employees up for success from day one.
  • Support performance management, coaching conversations, disciplinary processes, and performance improvement plans.
  • Deliver HR training on harassment prevention, workplace policies, compliance, and other employee development topics.
  • Coach leaders on documentation, communication, and consistent application of company policies.
  • Help create an employee experience that reflects the Verde Vibes every day.
What You'll Bring

We're looking for an HR Generalist who enjoys working independently while building strong partnerships across the organization.

Required Qualifications
  • 2โ€“5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably supporting multiple locations or field-based operations.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, FEHA, FMLA/CFRA, leaves of absence, and HR compliance.
  • Ability to travel throughout California to support multiple worksites (reliable transportation required).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working independently, managing multiple priorities, and taking initiative.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Experience supporting janitorial, facility services, construction, manufacturing, agriculture, hospitality, or other field-based industries.
  • Experience supporting hourly workforces and multi-site operations.
