The school is an independent, coeducational day school dedicated to providing an excellent instructional program for children with language-based learning disabilities. The multisensory curriculum is designed for students of average to superior intelligence who can benefit from the unique educational experience provided. Through direct instruction in small class settings, a trained staff assists students to improve their language skills. Academic success, combined with opportunities for social and emotional growth, enables students to understand their learning styles, build confidence, and develop self-advocacy skills. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating student arrival and dismissal process.
  • Responsible for managing student attendance.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls from the front desk
  • Manage incoming calls for Head of WLS and other senior admin when needed.
  • Setup of new student files and enters all student information/changes in database.
  • Make and distribute photocopies for administration and teachers.
  • Manages all supply ordering for WLS and organization of supply closet.
  • Assist in greeting and directing visitors.
  • Distribute mail and support mailings
  • Manage the raptor system and inform Head of WLS of any concerns
  • Assist with digital files on Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
  • Schedules summer screenings and summer reading practicum
  • Manage RSVPs and maintain spreadsheets for events and screenings
  • Maintains an organized faculty lounge (supply orders, milk, coffee, etc.)
  • Responsible for managing student transportation information in database & notify Head of WLS and families as needed of disruption to student transportation due to closures (i.e. holidays, etc)
  • Contact families to ensure all appropriate paperwork is submitted.
  • Contact with families with regard to undocumented absences.
  • Support progress report process
  • Training of any temps or other staff that may provide front desk coverage.
  • Cross training with all WLS administrative support and providing coverage as needed.
  • Data entry of student information in Veracross and other systems
  • Must maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • All support staff are required to assist the administration as needed with daily operations.
  • Provides administrative support for day-to-day operations as needed including but not limited to: scheduling meetings, event support, email correspondence.
  • Works closely with OPT regarding busing and updating school calendars
Specific Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2 – 3 years of administrative work experience; prior school experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Veracross & Yellow System database experience a plus
