Senior Fund Accountant: Venture Capital Fund Admin
For over two decades, Kranz Consulting has been the recognized leader in providing superior financial consulting advisory services requested by the most prominent Venture Capital firms, startup and emerging growth company CEO’s, Boards, and CFO’s.
This position is a full time and/or part-time role working as an employee of Kranz Consulting while providing fractional consulting services to our VC Fund Admin clients. The Senior Fund Accountant position, working with our Venture Capital and Private Equity clients, is an operational and financial staff position that collaborates very closely with Senior Management.
If you are a seasoned professional with excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong experience and skills in the area of Finance & Accounting, we are looking for you.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual period closings and create financial statements and associated reports for Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds, as well as associated entities (general partner, management companies, special purpose vehicles, etc.)
  • Prepare management fee calculations
  • Assist with accounts payable and intercompany transactions
  • Cash management - including day to day activities, investment transactions and monthly reconciliations
  • Prepare investor capital calls and distributions
  • Assist with annual client audits and work with external auditors
  • Assist with preparation of tax related files, including annual Form 1099 preparation and submission as well as Schedule K-1 review
  • Assist with compliance related issues, such as state and local tax filings, and registrations
  • Perform special projects as requested

Desired Skills and Experience
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2-3 years’ related fund administration or private fund [1] [LJ2] experience - CPA preferred
  • Prior experience processing payroll is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask, prioritize, and complete projects in a dynamic environment
  • Strong aptitude for producing accurate numbers and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, with a high degree of flexibility
  • Proficiency with multiple software applications preferred (QuickBooks, Excel and other Office applications)[3]
