JOB OVERVIEW

The Inspector articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturerโ€™s instructions for continued airworthiness service bulletins, service letters for performing preliminary hidden-damage, in process and final inspections on civil aviation on aviation airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that they are thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools and equipment used within their assigned area of responsibility.โ€ฏ
  • Maintaining proficiency in using the inspection aids in their assigned area of responsibility Understanding the current specifications involving inspection aids, used to perform inspections are in proper working order and the proper calibration information is affixed.โ€ฏ
  • Ensuring that the inspection tools and equipment, including inspection aids, used to perform inspections are in proper working order and the proper calibration information is affixed.โ€ฏ
  • Understand the current specifications involving inspection tolerances, limitations and procedures established by the manufacturer of the article being inspected and must understand, speak and write the English language.โ€ฏ
  • Ensure all inspections are properly performed and recorded, and all records are properly executes before final approval for return to service of articles maintained or altered by this repair station.โ€ฏ
  • Perform disassembly and repair of all types of aircraft engine usable partsโ€ฏ
  • Assist with the reconfiguration or reconditioning of equipmentโ€ฏ
  • Perform scripted test procedures to isolate failure to sub-assembly and/or component levelโ€ฏ
  • Successfully replace failed sub-assembly, part, or component to bring failed device to working orderโ€ฏ
  • Perform scripted repair procedure to repair and functionally test part or productโ€ฏ
  • Assist Repair technicians/Engineers/Technical Services as requiredโ€ฏ
  • Maintain constant adherence to inventory control practices and proceduresโ€ฏ
  • Interpret OEM manuals and routers instructionsโ€ฏ

Qualifications:

  • High School or equivalent and basic computer skillsโ€ฏ
  • Airframe and/or Powerplant licenseโ€ฏ
  • Must possess exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment used in aircraft jet engine maintenance.โ€ฏโ€ฏ
  • 3 โ€“ 5 years experience in a lead role for an aircraft jet engine maintenance. โ€ฏโ€ฏ
  • Experienced with borescope inspection and interpretation of technical data during the borescope process.โ€ฏโ€ฏ
  • Familiar with all regulatory requirements that govern the maintenance of aircraft jet engine.โ€ฏโ€ฏ
  • Must be able to communicate Inspection Priorities to inspection personnel in a clear and concise manner.โ€ฏโ€ฏ
  • Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.โ€ฏ
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing per FAA/DOT regulations. NOTE: This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Job Demands:

Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
