Job description

What you do

Assist the Ventures team in analyzing and recommending new strategic Ventures investment opportunities. Primary responsibilities include identifying scope and size of new venture opportunities within focus industries; conduct financial due diligence of targets that seek venture capital funding including understanding of business model, total addressable market, competitive positioning, revenue streams, expenses, earnings, working capital and overall quality of financial information; financial model development and stress testing; support market and competitor analysis; coordination of due diligence process; interview target firmsโ€™ executives; and overall valuation analysis. You will also support analysis, reporting, and monitoring of overall long term Venture portfolio performance. You will report to the AIM VP โ€“ Ventures.

  • Top of the funnel deal sourcing and evaluation: Coordinate all facets of financial due diligence process related to strategic Venture investment opportunities. Includes In-depth review and analysis of identified markets and target companies, financial analysis, and valuation analysis. Work with other departments within Allianz Life and target companies and consultants, investment banks, venture capital and private equity firms.
  • Conduct portfolio analysis of Allianz Life Ventures portfolio: Support in reporting financial health of AZL Ventures portfolio to the Steering Committee and other important partners.
  • Market research and analysis: Help provide market updates on emerging trends within the Fintech/Insurtech landscape to help guide future strategic direction of AZL Ventures program.
  • Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).
What you bring
  • 4+ years of experience: Relevant insurance or financial services experience; deep know-how, analysis and experience in early stage fintech investing and business development. Strong leadership and excellent verbal and written communication skills (story-telling ability with market and portfolio data).
  • Four-year degree required: Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or related technical field.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship.

Base Salary Range: $66,000 โ€“ $131,000

Actual base salary may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.
