This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren Global Technical Center or Austin Technical Center three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business if more than 3 days].

The Role

The Vendor Management Manager will build and lead Core IT's vendor management function, ensuring strategic technology suppliers deliver reliable services and measurable value aligned to our priorities. This role establishes governance, performance measurement, and escalation mechanisms, and partners with Purchasing, Finance, Security, and IT leaders to support effective vendor execution, renewals, and spend alignment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Core IT's vendor management function, accountable for vendor performance and relationship management.
  • Translate contracts and statements of work into measurable service expectations and performance reporting.
  • Establish and run vendor governance (QBRs/MBRs, executive reviews, escalation paths) to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Define and maintain performance measurement and reporting (scorecards, dashboards, metrics) across service, cost, risk, and value.
  • Partner with IT domain leaders to align vendor deliverables and roadmaps with business and Core IT priorities.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to support sourcing strategies, renewals, negotiations, and contract changes.
  • Lead or coordinate escalations for significant vendor issues, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Identify and deliver vendor optimization opportunities.
  • Build, mentor, and lead the vendor management team and a virtual network of vendor leads.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in IT, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT vendor management, sourcing, account management, or IT service management in a medium to large enterprise.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Experience negotiating and managing or supporting large, complex IT vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience improving vendor performance, risk posture, or cost/value.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize financial, operational, and contractual data.
  • Strong communication and issue-resolution skills in an enterprise environment.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Masters degree and/or professional certifications in a related field.
  • Experience operating vendor governance models at enterprise scale.
  • Advanced experience supporting complex vendor negotiations or renewals.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
  • Experience using vendor performance tools, dashboards, or analytics.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with practical process design and change execution.
  • You thrive in a collaborative atmosphere and believe in the power of innovation through differing view points.

Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.

Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: $140,100 - $174,650. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential:An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
