Description:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairs of all plant equipment and production machinery. Must be self-motivated, have the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues in a production Casting and Machining environment. Candidate will also be expected to perform Predictive/Preventative maintenance and conform to all OSHA and Linamar standards.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Education/Experience - preferred:
  • High School graduation or equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance field
  • Associates degree in a maintenance field course of study
  • 3-5 years’ experience in machine repair environment
  • Journeyman card in maintenance field.

Linamar will provide the following training/certifications:

  • Lock out/ Tag out Certification
  • Confined space entry
  • Hot work permit
  • Forklift Certification
  • Crane Use Evaluation
  • Articulating Boom Lift Certification

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies

  • Ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Possess basic knowledge of high voltage applications
  • Read mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to use hand tools and powered tools
  • Must be able to maintain and repair facility equipment as directed by maintenance supervision
  • Operation of industrial equipment
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Basic math knowledge
  • Working knowledge of machinery rigging
  • Basic welding and fabrication
  • Basic troubleshooting and repair to automation equipment.
  • Perform, analyze, and interpret various types of test equipment

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adherent to all safety procedures and 5S standards
  • Active participation and support in safety programs, conducting safety audits and implementing corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot, problem solve, repair and maintain all production equipment, including, but not limited to: casting, machining, leak test, shot blast, dust collection, heat treatment and melt equipment promptly
  • Capability of rebuilding and/or replacing defective components such as motors, relays, solenoids, limit switches, pilot valves, hydraulic components (pumps, cylinders, hoses, etc.), belts and filters
  • Locate and replace faulty electrical and mechanical components.
  • Disassembly, repair and reassembly of all plant and production machinery.
  • Timely completion and documentation of departmental Preventative Maintenance and Work Requests
  • Understand and troubleshoot operator interface terminals, AC and DC servo systems, VFD’s, PLC’s, and power supplies
