Description

The Machine Technician I will be responsible for ensuring that all Sorter machines are fully operational. As well as keeping the parts inventory up to date. Will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of all barcode printers. Will be responsible for running all project tests, inspecting that the products meet the required parameters and quality ensuring the completion of the tasks according to the production needs. Must supervise and check machines prior to a high monthly production volume, to avoid production delays due to equipment problems.


Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Organize and log every part in inventory.
  • Log all incidents and procedures.
  • Monitor the sorter machines/Printers throughout the daily production.
  • Log and monitor weekly/ monthly cleaning of all the machines/printers.
  • Test all machines after every service to ensure they are fully operational.
  • During high peak business operations, may be asked to assist in mail processing.
  • All other job duties as assigned.


Requirements

Skills and Competencies:

  • Mail Sorter or Printer maintenance experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organized and proactive
  • Inventory management knowledge
  • Printing and mail experience is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations
  • Microsoft Office and Outlook skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior warehouse type setting experience a plus
  • 2-3 years of experience working with mechanical repairs for industrial machinery

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Lifting requirements of 35 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing at workstation.
  • Extended periods of focused reading of mail pieces and labels.
  • Must be able to continuously stand, walk, reach, extend, bend, stoop, and squat throughout the shift.
  • Will be exposed to a loud noise environment.
  • May be exposed to dust.
  • Extended work shifts may be required due to business needs and the flexibility to work overtime and weekends are required.
