Company is searching for attentive and detail-oriented drivers to join our client’s team of Autonomous Vehicle Safety Drivers. In this role, you will be at the forefront of autonomous vehicle testing, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge technology while ensuring the highest safety standards. This position is ideal for those with excellent driving skills, a passion for innovation, and an ability to act swiftly and safely in potentially adverse driving situations.
Available Schedules:
Tuesday - Saturday (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
Friday - Monday (10 hours per day, 40 hours per week)

AM Shift Options:

4:30 am - 3:00 pm (Friday - Monday ONLY)
5:00 am - 1:30 pm
5:30 am - 2:00 pm
6:00 am - 2:30 pm
6:30 am - 3:00 pm
PM Shift Options:
2:30 pm - 1:00 am (Friday - Monday ONLY)
3:30 pm - 12:00 am

As a Safety Driver, you'll:
  • Operate autonomous vehicles safely and lawfully to collect critical data on system performance and environmental factors.
  • Interact professionally with riders, engineers, and company operations leaders to provide feedback and insights.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and conduct in-field testing to ensure operational safety.
  • Prepare vehicles daily for in-field operations, including safety checks and system readiness.
  • Submit detailed reports to support system advancements and operational improvements.
  • Be prepared for the actions of other drivers and pedestrians as well as for unexpected events.
  • Be alert and distraction free while in vehicles.
Ideal candidate profile
It will be an advantage if: Knowledge of technical aspects of vehicles and control systems. Experience working with autonomous vehicles Safe driving courses, motorsport experience, defensive driving skills
 
Daily tasks
Client is a leader in autonomous vehicle technologies, is looking to hire Autonomous Vehicle Safety Drivers to help ensure the safety of all involved and the advancement of our autonomous technologies. As an Autonomous Vehicle Safety Driver, you will:
● Collect data on the autonomous driving system and environment by operating the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner.
● Interact on a daily basis with riders and company operations leaders.
● Ensure safety through in-field testing.
● Monitor the technical condition of the vehicle through in-field testing.
● Complete daily preparation of the vehicle for in-field operations.
● Complete daily reports for the advancement of our technologies.
 
Required skills
The ideal candidate will:
● Have at least 3 years of a valid US driving license
● Have excellent knowledge of local traffic regulations
● Have excellent communication skills
● Have a willingness to work in various weather conditions and on different types of roads.
● Have a high level of responsibility and attention to detail.
● Have a clean driving record, absent of DUI, drug and/or alcohol related offenses within the last 5 years.
