As an Operations Manager II, you will lead strategic initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness across multiple areas within operations. This mid-level management position involves overseeing manufacturing, production control, engineering, and materials functions. You will ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards, and develop operational plans, budgets, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities: * Oversee and manage complex manufacturing operations, production control, and inventory control activities.
* Lead and implement advanced process improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams.
* Develop and execute manufacturing strategies to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
* Prepare, manage, and optimize budgets for operational departments.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
* Develop and enforce comprehensive operational policies and procedures.
* Foster cross-functional collaboration to drive operational excellence.
* Identify and implement new technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency. Qualifications You Must Have: * Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Operations, Business, Logistics, or related field of study .
* 9+ years of operations management experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
* Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of related experience is required.
* Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. * Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
* Ability to cultivate a safety-first culture and maintain high levels of technical workmanship.
* Thorough understanding of and experience with the practical application of production/manufacturing principles, techniques, and best practices.
* Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
* Progressive experience with materials management systems.
* Previous supervisory experience; the ability to recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence. Qualifications We Prefer: * Professional certification in Lean manufacturing processes, implementation or Six Sigma.
* Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) software and data analysis tools.
* Familiarity with Lean, Six-sigma, and/or Theory of Constraints Manufacturing Principles.
* Understanding of Assembly, Integration, and Test practices.
* Understanding of airworthiness principles, safety programs, and operational readiness expectations.
* Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military. Essential Functions: * Ability to work on a computer for the majority of the work shift.
* Hand/finger dexterity for data entry and document handling.
* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
* Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
* Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
* Ability to travel occasionally as required.
* Ability to read detailed operational documents, reports, and computer screens.
* Ability to inspect operations and facilities, potentially in different lighting conditions.
* Ability to navigate large facilities, including climbing stairs or ladders if necessary.
* Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for site visits or other work-related travel.
* Ability to perform fine motor tasks such as adjusting small controls or tools during inspections or demonstrations.
* Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments such as manufacturing floors or during team meetings. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
