What is vehicle maintenance?

Vehicle maintenance refers to the routine inspection, servicing, and repair of vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and efficient. This process includes tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and replacing worn-out parts. Proper vehicle maintenance helps to prevent breakdowns, extend the lifespan of the vehicle, and maintain its resale value. Regular upkeep is essential for both personal vehicles and commercial fleets.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in vehicle maintenance?

To thrive in vehicle maintenance, you need a solid understanding of automotive systems, diagnostic skills, and often a relevant certification such as ASE. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, repair manuals, and computerized maintenance management systems is typically required.
