Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assisting OTR Drivers with switching lanes, blocking, and navigating bridge crossings, to ensure the safety of the OTR Driver, their load, and everyone else on the road. 

  • Employ and adhere to the companies safe driving practices. 

  • Complete Pre-trip safety inspection of vehicle. 

  • Ensure all needed materials are in-stock and loaded into vehicles (spare tire, tools, etc.). 

  • Communicate and advise traffic routing plans and type of location of control points with Mobilization Supervisor. 

  • Plan permitted routes, as certain states & highways have different regulations which will require the escort driver to either lead or follow the oversize load. 

  • Coordinate with project managers, dispatch, as well as, the OTR Driver to ensure safe transport of oversize heavy equipment and accessories. 

  • Identify where all potential obstacles are on the roadways, including low passes, narrow roads and light-load-only streets. 

  • Assist with road repairs and service if situation requires. 

  • Maintains Company vehicle in a clean and orderly state, inside and out, always. 

  • Represents Saiia by presenting a positive image to internal and external customers and vendors. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications
  • Must maintain a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record. 

  • Must be aware of all aspects of load movement. 

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and ability preferred. 

  • Must be able to work as part of a team.  

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal correspondence 

  • Must be friendly, punctual, self-motivated, and detail oriented. 

  • Must have excellent time management abilities.  

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in accordance to urgency.
