Job description

Responsibilities
Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Journeyman Air Vehicles Engineer to support the F/A-18 and EA-18G Program Office (PMA-265) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. This program provides critical current and future capabilities in the form of total life cycle support management (cradle to grave) for the F/A-18A-D Hornet, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and EA-18 G Growler weapons systems. PMA-265 is responsible for acquiring, delivering, and sustaining the F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft, ensuring mission success for U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aviators, as well as international partners. Active Secret clearance required. This is a Hybrid position with primarily 3 days/week on-site and 2 days/week telework.
The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
  • Apply Air Vehicle engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate F/A-18 systems and subsystems.
  • Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in Air Vehicle Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in the area of engineering expertise is required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to multiple stakeholders and resolve competing test resource requirements.
  • Self-Motivated to learn new systems under test and be proactive to meet program requirements and take responsibility for identifying, organizing, coordinating, executing necessary tasks leading to the successful accomplishment of assigned duties.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work as part of an integrated team.
  • Must have strong communication skills and possess some technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Security Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experienced in DoD weapons acquisition process.
  • Desired experience in aeromechanics and aircraft subsystems

Compensation Statement
At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $130,500.00 - $144,900.00
