The Director, Purchasing, Logistics & Master Data is responsible for overseeing the full end-to-end supply chain operation. This role leads and develops a high-performing team of supply chain and logistics professionals, while partnering cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Procurement, Finance, Product Development, Marketing, and Sales to ensure products are available at the right time, in the right place, and at the right cost. The Director, Purchasing, Logistics & Master Data drives operational excellence and ensures seamless execution across Purchasing and Logistics- in support of Hourglass's global growth objectives.ย 

WHAT YOU DO:ย 

Supply Chain Leadershipย 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supply chain professionals acrossย purchasingย andย logisticsย functions.ย 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.ย 
  • Represent the supply chain function in cross-functional leadership forums, executive reviews, and S&OP processes.ย 
  • Define and track KPIs across supply chain operations including service level, inventory health, on-time delivery, lead time adherence, andย logisticsย cost management.ย 
  • Implement margin optimization and operational cost-saving strategies across the supply chain.ย 

Logisticsย 

  • Oversee theย logisticsย function, managing the end-to-end movement of goods between globalย packagingย suppliers, contractย cosmeticsย manufacturers, and the Hourglass Distribution Center across all transportation modes (air, sea, truck, rail).ย 
  • Ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of shipments through effective management of freight forwarding partnerships; review andย optimizeย freight costs toย identifyย the most economical mode of transport that meets required delivery dates.ย 
  • Ensureย accurateย landed cost application andย timelyย processing of freight and customs invoices; apply freight and customs costs to inventory so landed cost is absorbed correctly.ย 
  • Oversee Transfer Order management in NetSuite ERP, ensuring all shipment dates, quantities, and statuses areย maintainedย accurately;ย maintainย clear Transfer Order Pegging Reports with estimated and actual departure and arrival dates.ย 

ย Purchasingย 

  • Build andย maintainย strategic supplier relationships across contract manufacturers, packaging suppliers, and freight forwarders to ensureย timelyย procurement, quality delivery, and business continuity.ย 
  • Actively prepare andย participateย in S&OPย with Demand Planning,ย Procurement,ย Finance, Sales, and Marketing to develop tactical supply chain plans that align with business goals and globalย forecast.ย 
  • Oversee vendor scorecards and KPI tracking across service, quality, innovation, safety, and communication; support vendor accountability through regular performance reviews.ย 
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for supply issues including delays, ,ย capacity constraints, and supply disruptions; proactively develop and communicate contingency plans.ย 
  • Partner with Product Development and Project Management teams on new product launch supply chain planning, providingย clear updates on all open ordersย andย logisticsย recommendations during cross-functional NPD meetings.ย 

Master Data Managementย and Inventory Reconciliationย 

  • Lead the Master Data function. Maintainย accurate, up-to-date, comprehensive Master Data in our system ofย record.ย 
  • Regularly reconcile inventory balances and transactions in NetSuite and our key external partner's ERPs and WMSs, understand theย sources of the out-of-syncs,ย and make recommendations for how to getย in syncย and stayย in sync.ย 
  • Lead NetSuite-intensive projects that will allow us to get more leverage from our Master Dataย

ย QUALIFICATIONSย 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field;ย ย 
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive supply chain experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or senior management role overseeing cross-functional supply chain teams.ย 
  • Proven experience overseeing supplyย chainย andย logisticsย functions end-to-end.ย 
  • Deep experience with MRP/ERP systems; Oracle Planning Cloud (OPC) and NetSuite experience strongly preferred.ย 
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes including demand planning, supply planning, procurement,ย logistics, inventory management, and S&OP.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence without authority, and drive organizational change.ย 
  • Exceptional analytical skills; advanced proficiency in Excel (modeling, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and strong data-driven decision-making capabilities.ย 
  • Experience with international freight forwarding and logistics operations.
  • Cosmetics, beauty, or consumer packaged goods industry experience strongly preferred.ย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communicationย skills;ย demonstratedย ability to presentย effectively toย executive leadership and articulate complex supply chain concepts to non-technical audiences.ย 
  • Track recordย of building, developing, andย retainingย high-performing teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.ย 
  • Must be able to work from Corporate Office at least 60% of the time

The expected base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 per year. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
