Job description


Position Overview

At 2020 Exhibits we create custom made exhibits and booth rentals for trade shows and events. We specialize in designing, fabricating, installing and dismantling large- scale custom and rental exhibits, branded corporate interiors, and engaging environments worldwide.

2020 Exhibits, Inc. is looking for a full-time Detailer to join our team on-site in the Houston office. The Detailer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with exhibit design and production. This includes creating detailed construction drawings and specifications, collaborating with shop and team members to ensure accurate and timely execution of project drawings. The Detailer will work closely with the design, estimating and production teams to deliver high-quality exhibits and environments that meet client expectations.

Monday to Friday: Onsite: 8 am-5 pm

Key Responsibilities

·         Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings for custom exhibits, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.

·         Interpret design concepts and renderings into accurate technical documentation for fabrication.

·         Develop shop drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and assembly instructions

·         Create CNC ready toolpaths for producing customer components.

·         Review client blueprints, plans, specifications, and other documentation.

·         Produce production-ready construction and installation drawings using AutoCAD 3D.

·         Work closely with designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy.

·         Collaborate with fabrication, graphics, and installation teams to resolve design and construction challenges.

·         Participate in project reviews to ensure alignment with scope, budget, and timeline.

·         Incorporate material specifications, hardware, and construction methods into drawings.

·         Verify dimensions, tolerances, and integrity of exhibit components for engineer approval.

·         Revise drawings based on internal feedback, client changes, and on-site requirements.

·         Maintain organized documentation and version control throughout the project lifecycle.

·         Support value engineering efforts to optimize cost and efficiency without compromising design intent.

·         Accuracy and completeness of technical drawings.

·         Reduction in production errors and rework.

·         Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.


Qualifications

·         3+ years of detailing or drafting experience, preferably in exhibits, events, millwork, or experiential environments.

·         Proficiency in CAD and CNC software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Vectorworks, Enroute or similar).

·         Strong understanding of materials, fabrication processes, and construction methods.

·         Ability to read and interpret design renderings and architectural drawings.

·         High attention to detail and accuracy.

·         Strong problem-solving and spatial reasoning skills.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment aligned with show schedules and production timelines.

·         Effective communication and collaboration skills.

·         Knowledge of tradeshow regulations and installation practices is a plus.
