Job description

At Vector Security We Think Big, Do the Right Thing, and Make a Difference Every Day! If this is how you like to work, we’d like to invite you to join our team as an Electronic Systems Technician!

We offer great benefits, a competitive salary, and growth opportunities. We think you’ll find what you want here because what we do matters - to us, our customers, and most of all, our team members.

Job Location:  Melbourne, FL

PAID TRAINING AND COMPANY VEHICLE PROVIDED!

Summary:

Vector Security is seeking an Alarm Installation Technician responsible for installing and servicing residential and commercial security systems and conducting fire alarm inspections in the Melbourne and surrounding areas.

Technicians with experience as alarm installers, low-voltage technicians, CCTV technicians, telecommunications installers, or other field service technicians often find their skills transfer well to this role. Candidates with backgrounds in cable installation, construction wiring, or new home construction are encouraged to apply.

If you enjoy hands-on work, troubleshooting systems, and working directly with customers to make sure their security technology operates safely and reliably, this role is a great fit.

Why Join Vector Security as an Alarm Technician:

  • You’re not just a number. Your schedule is set at least the night before so you can plan your day; your first call is typically within an hour of your home
  • We equip you to succeed. You’ll receive a company vehicle, company cell phone, and laptop; all equipment is shipped directly to you so your focus stays on your territory
  • We invest in your growth. Vector offers paid training and certifications including OSHA, NICET, CAT Level 1, alarm.com, and other manufacturer-specific programs; we want you building skills, not just logging calls
  • Variety keeps the work interesting. Unlike companies where technicians work on a single brand or panel type, Vector installs and services a wide range of systems; you will encounter something new regularly and build a broad technical skill set because of it
  • Minimal office time. For this territory, branch visits are minimal; the rest of the time, you’re in the field doing the work

What You’ll Do:

  • Install alarm systems, video surveillance, and access control equipment in residential and small to mid-sized commercial accounts
  • Perform fire alarm inspections in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Service and maintain existing security and fire alarm systems
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure systems operate properly
  • Conduct system testing and quality checks
  • Educate customers on system functionality and basic operation
  • Document installation and service activity accurately
  • Deliver professional, courteous service on every visit

What You’ll Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in low-voltage systems, alarm installation, security systems, cable, telecom, or related technical work
  • Basic wiring, panel programming, and system troubleshooting skills
  • 1-3 years of industry experience preferred (security systems, alarm installation, CCTV, low voltage wiring, HVAC, telecommunications, or similar technical trades) or equivalent technical education
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history
  • CAT Level 1 certification or equivalent a plus; Vector Security provides a path to certification through paid training after hire.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset

What You’ll Get:

We offer a “Total Rewards”package including:

  • Company Vehicle Provided to use for work.
  • Company Provided paid cell phone and laptop!
  • Career advancement opportunities
  • Competitive compensation with incentive eligibility
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • HSA/FSA programs
  • Company paid life and AD&D insurance.
  • Company paid short- and long-term disability.
  • Voluntary benefit products
  • 401k retirement savings plan after just 60 days
  • 7 Company Holidays, plus 2 Floating holidays of your choice
  • Paid Time Off
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

About Us:
