Job description

Advanced Decision Vectors, LLC (ADV), established in 2009, provides superior program management, program support, strategic planning, and systems engineering to the Federal and Commercial sectors. Located in Alexandria, Virginia, ADV is a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) contractor that has roots established in the Department of Defense and support agencies. Our customer, the Headquarters United States Space Force (HQ USSF) Director of Staff Security Office (SF/DSZ), is responsible for cybersecurity and information assurance oversight of classified information systems supporting SCI and Special Access Program (SAP) IT missions across the United States Space Force. ADV is the prime contractor supporting this multi-year effort.
We are seeking an Information Assurance (IA) Specialist to support cybersecurity and compliance operations for Headquarters United States Space Force (HQ USSF). This role provides hands-on Information Assurance and Cyber Assurance support across SCI and Special Access Program (SAP) IT environments, working alongside the ISSO and ISSM to maintain secure, compliant, and authorized systems.
  • On-site presence is required Monday through Friday (9:00 AM-5:00 PM); no telework is permitted due to sensitive/classified information. This role is located at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Candidates must currently reside within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
  • An *Active* Top-Secret clearance with SCI is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
Information Assurance & Cybersecurity Support:
  • Provide day-to-day Information Assurance support for classified systems operating in JWICS/AFJWICS, SIPRNet, and NIPRNet environments.
  • Support secure system operations in accordance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF requirements, and approved security authorization artifacts.
  • Assist with compliance validation, system monitoring, and operational cybersecurity checks.
  • Support cybersecurity incident response activities, documentation, and reporting under ISSO/ISSM direction.

RMF & Authorization Sustainment:
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities across system lifecycle phases.
  • Assist with development, maintenance, and updates of RMF documentation, including:
    • System Security Plans (SSPs)
    • Continuous Monitoring artifacts
    • Security assessment evidence
  • Support ATO sustainment activities using XACTA (JWICS/AFJWICS) and eMASS (NIPR/SIPR).
  • Track and support remediation of POA&Ms resulting from cybersecurity assessments and reviews.

SCI & SAP IT Support:
  • Provide IA support to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) IT environments.
  • Assist with SAP IT coordination, data calls, and taskers with government stakeholders, as directed.
  • Verify personnel access prerequisites (clearances, need-to-know, training) prior to system access in coordination with the ISSO.
  • Support maintenance of SCIF and system baselines, including documentation of approved hardware, software, and firmware configurations.

Assessments & Compliance Activities:
  • Support annual Cybersecurity Self-Assessments and Program Reviews.
  • Assist with preparation of documentation and evidence for inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure IA and cybersecurity documentation remains current, accurate, and audit-ready.

Collaboration & Coordination:
  • Work closely with the ISSO, ISSM, ISSE, Information Security Officers (ISO), system owners, and government leads.
  • Coordinate with helpdesk, asset management, and cybersecurity teams to support system sustainment.
  • Stay current on DoD instructions, cybersecurity guidance, SOPs, and policy updates relevant to IA responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or related field
  • *Active* Top-Secret clearance with SCI
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or Information Security within a DoD or Intelligence Community environment
  • Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD Information Assurance processes
  • Experience supporting SCI environments and familiarity with Special Access Program (SAP) security
  • Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as:
    • CompTIA Security+ CE
    • CCNA-Security
    • GIAC GICSP
  • Ability to work on-site full-time (Pentagon) in a classified environment

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • Experience with XACTA and/or eMASS
  • Experience supporting JWICS / AFJWICS
  • Prior experience supporting Space Force, DoD HQ, or Pentagon-level missions
  • OEM or platform certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, Linux/Red Hat)
