Electrical Planning Foreman – Preconstruction

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Planning Foreman to join our Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team. This role is ideal for a seasoned electrical professional who enjoys planning projects, coordinating with field teams, and helping ensure successful project execution before construction begins.

As the Electrical Planning Foreman, you'll lead plan reviews and preconstruction planning efforts until a site superintendent is assigned. You'll collaborate with project teams to develop buildable shop drawings, prefab details, material takeoffs, and installation plans that drive efficient field execution.

What You'll Do

  • Review and verify project specifications, submittals, and construction documents
  • Interpret electrical drawings to produce accurate, buildable shop drawings
  • Read and verify wiring schematics
  • Create installation details using Bluebeam software
  • Complete schedules, worksheets, and documentation using Excel
  • Deliver accurate work while meeting project deadlines
  • Follow and help improve detailing standards and processes
  • Collaborate with General Contractors, BIM Operators, Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and Electrical Detailers
  • Plan electrical routing, material takeoffs, installation details, and project sequencing
  • Track project progress and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Perform quality control reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and a strong commitment to continuous learning
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician
  • Experience leading 2–3 projects as a Foreman or 2+ years as an Electrical Detailer
  • Familiarity with BIM or Design-Build projects
  • 2+ years of commercial or industrial electrical installation experience
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction methods
  • Advanced working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and construction documents
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling
  • Basic Bluebeam experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Word
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Work Schedule

Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
