What are the typical daily responsibilities of a VCF Analyst in a genomics laboratory setting?

As a VCF Analyst, your daily tasks often include processing next-generation sequencing data, managing and curating Variant Call Format (VCF) files, conducting variant annotation, and working closely with research scientists or clinicians to interpret findings. You can expect to use bioinformatics pipelines and specialized software tools to identify genetic variants and ensure data integrity and accuracy. Collaboration with molecular biologists, data scientists, and IT teams is common, as your work directly supports research or clinical projects. The role may also involve troubleshooting data quality issues and contributing to ongoing process improvements. This combination of technical and collaborative work makes each day both challenging and rewarding for those interested in genomics and data-driven discovery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Vcf position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a VCF (Variant Call Format) Analyst, you need a solid background in bioinformatics, genomics, and data analysis, typically supported by relevant degrees in life sciences or computer science. Proficiency in bioinformatics tools such as GATK, bcftools, and scripting languages like Python or R is highly important, along with experience handling VCF files. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills are essential soft skills for success in this role. These competencies enable the accurate interpretation of genetic data, ensure data quality, and facilitate collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

What is a Vcf job?

A VCF (Variant Call Format) job typically involves analyzing genetic variations in DNA sequencing data. Professionals in this role work with bioinformatics tools to process, interpret, and manage VCF files, which store genomic variant information. These jobs are common in research, healthcare, and biotechnology fields, aiding in disease research and personalized medicine. Skills in programming, data analysis, and genomics are often required for this role.

Job description

Join a Fast-Growing Boutique Broadcom Partner

Ready to work with the latest VMware technology instead of maintaining legacy environments?

We're partnering with a rapidly growing boutique Broadcom partner that's making a name for itself by delivering cutting-edge VMware Cloud Foundation solutions for enterprise customers across the U.S. If you're passionate about VCF 9, Kubernetes, and designing next-generation private cloud environments, this is an opportunity to work alongside some of the best VMware consultants in the industry.

What You'll Do

  • Architect, design, and deploy VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9 environments for enterprise customers.
  • Lead greenfield implementations, upgrades, and modernization projects.
  • Deploy and integrate VMware Kubernetes Service (VKS) and help customers adopt cloud-native platforms.
  • Design scalable solutions utilizing vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and the VMware Aria Suite.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers through architecture decisions and best practices.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to solution design across multiple client engagements.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), ideally VCF 9.
  • Experience deploying and managing VMware Kubernetes Service (VKS) or Tanzu.
  • Deep knowledge of vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and VMware Aria Operations/Automation.
  • Architecture and customer-facing consulting experience.
  • VMware certifications (VCF, VCP, or VCAP) are highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions.

Why You'll Love It

  • Work for one of the fastest-growing boutique Broadcom partners in the country.
  • Be at the forefront of VMware Cloud Foundation 9 and modern private cloud technologies.
  • High-impact architecture work—not just day-to-day support.
  • Collaborative team of VMware experts with strong technical leadership.
  • Excellent compensation, bonus potential, and long-term career growth.
  • Fully remote with exciting enterprise projects.
